Why the Cool Change?

Cool change came to fruition for a number of reasons. We stumbled across the opportunity to convert one of the most ornate, beautiful buildings in the Wairarapa into a warm, comfortable, unique hospitality concept.

The name derives from one of our greatest passions — music. Throw in the fact that we are vulnerable to the odd occasional southerly blast and fondness of “The Little River Band” Cool Change was born.

We have focused on taking the décor back to the era with which this stunning building thrived, with help and guidance of ‘Wedgey’ and ‘Grunter’ our make-over was completed on Sept 16th 2011.

Our venue consists of 2 private function rooms, a dining room featuring booth seating, open fire and period & deco lighting. The bar greets you on entry with a warm ambience; sky TV when required and a wine list to tempt those taste buds.

Cool Change cuisine will not disappoint as our Head Chef Jurgens Snyman has weaved his way around the globe cooking alongside some of the ‘foodie’ rockstars — We’ve never witnessed a guy make a piece of toasted bread so moreish…
