Walking into the Cracked Pepper is like walking into a second home. The staff are friendly and make you feel instantly welcome. Being able to see into the kitchen is a real treat as always shows your food is prepared fresh. Although it may look small it seats more than anticipated. Even though they may be full no need to wait to long for your meals or be served on. A++

Easily THE BEST cafe in Wanganui. The eggs benedict is superb, the best in the country, and on the odd occasion we have been able to turn ourselves away from it to try something else, we have not been disappointed. The breads and dips are fantastic, as is the antipasto platter. Cracked Pepper really knows how to do service, they are so friendly and accommodating, and there is always a nice greeting and a happy farewell (I’ve tried to slip out without them noticing before, but always been thwarted on my way out the door). The local artwork changes frequently and is always stunning. The cafe itself is small enough to be cosy and though always full of customers is quiet enough to have a private conversation. Could not recommend more highly, I am yet to have a better dining experience in Wanganui than any one of the 10+ times I have been to Cracked Pepper. Coffee is great and steak meal highly recommended if you have a hangover!

As a true aficionado of Eggs Benedict i can only say, having tried them all over the country that not only are these the best (complimented to perfection with that small drizzle of capsicum coulis – just enough to ‘cut’ the creamy hollandaise!) but the true test is its constancy! EVERY time i order, the dish arrives looking like a breakfast dream. I have been enjoying these for several years now and they are as good as when i first discovered them.
