Had vouchers for burgers & drinks. Yummy burgers, yummy chips, friendly staff. Nice corner to sit out of the wind & watch the world go by. Great spot for Hobbit Time!

We took advantage of a burger and drink online deal and had an early meal at The Craftsman this week. The Lot burger certainly lived up to its name. It was really big and made with beef, cheese, tomato, beetroot, red onions, bacon and an almost fried egg. Fries are charged separately – $3 gave us a decent sized serving. Service from the bar staff was helpful and pleasant. A good value, no frills bar meal.

I don’t know why people are so critical of this place, you get what you pay for… if you want world class service then please go to another place and pay $30 per meal and you will get that! I think this place is very relaxed, the food is good, the service is average, and the prices are cheap.

I am surprised to read some poor reviews about the food from this place. In my recent experience this place has to have the best value $10 lunch burger and chips deal in town … my workmate and I have been 3 times this week! … the burgers are BIG, fresh and tasty. Recently on an evening I took my partner for dessert and one apple crumble fed both of us … it was almost a meal on it’s own. I hope they keep up the good work ! …. to some people the service may feel a little slack but for us we like it as the place is relaxed and they just let you get on with enjoying your time with friends and don’t hassle you at all.

Went in this morning about 9:30am, first time coming here, thought I’d try it out as its near work.
Walked in and didn’t even get acknowledged by the lady behind coffee machine, there was no other staff members present.
I was left standing for a good 5 minutes looking around to order a coffee. Another customer came in and ordered coffees and left money on counter and was acknowledged by staff member.
I asked can i please order a coffee, and she told me i had to wait after she had finished making these coffees for me to place order.

Absolutely SHOCKING service.

Not a nice experience!! Went in on a Friday morning around 11am. Not too busy so was surprised that the service was so slow and at some points rude. We were a larger group (10 people) but had to ask several times to place an order. The wait on the food was long, and the coffees were cold once delivered to the table! We saw the coffees sitting on the bench waiting to be delivered to our table… but they continued to sit there getting colder and colder. When we went up to ask if they were our coffees, and if we could take them (so we got hot coffees), we were told they weren’t ours..only minutes later they delivered the same coffees (lukewarm) to our table.

In two of the breakfasts we found pieces of metal (these things can happen, not the end of the world), we told the waitress who appeared disinterested and simply said she would let the chef know… No follow up from her or the chef about this until when leaving we asked if she had told the chef. Yes, she said, but he doesn’t know where it is from. We asked if we could something to compensate for this, perhaps a free coffee (even though these were not of a good standard!) but were told no. We would have at least expected an apology for the metal found in the food.

We will not be coming back again. Very unpleasant experience.

Love the 2 for 1 burgers. The chips are my favourite and my bf loves the seasoning on the chips. Getting hungry just thinking about it.
Nachoes are also a winner.
Love the generous supply of sauces.
Great service, friendly staff. Good location.

Came here for lunch one day as it was recommend by friends.
We had a movie that started in 1 1/3 hours so thought we would have plenty of time to have a quick lunch and drink.

My husband and I ordered a burger and a drink, burgers turned up 1 hour later cold.. safe to say we will not be coming back, waste of money!

My partner and I have been to Craftsman several times over the past few months, sometimes to sample from the menu, other times to have a few drinks.
The burgers there are amazing, so are the pancakes. My only compliant is that any special requests you make will sometimes be forgotten.
The staff seem genuinely happy to be there and were polite and helpful with any requests we had.
We will definitely be back soon!

Absolutely shocking!
It took 30 minutes between our drinks being delivered and our food orders being taken, despite it being a very quiet morning.
The coke I ordered was completely flat and when I requested a replacement I was told ‘it isn’t much better’.
The guacamole on the nachos was obviously not home made and looked like congealed snot. The beef and beans had been unevenly heated and there were cold spots.
The fries with the sandwich were not cooked through.
Overall, a very disappointing experience, I will certainly not be returning.

This is such a great little find. I’ve always though that a pub on that side of Courtenay Place would be excellent.. it’s so sunny!!! On Friday night we sat outside until 10pm with the warmth of the outside heaters on our backs… hardly had to move as staff were very attention. I’m hooked on the homemade garlic aioli. Had the salmon main which was fantastic and have tried the brunch too. Love the leaners inside!

Great Friday lunch spot – tartare sauce for the Macs fish & chips was spot on.

Excellent new gastro pub. Been several times now. $12.50 steak eggs and chips at lunch! Yummy, and a great place to have a few evening drinks, and very reasonable prices too!
