Ordered out via Menulog – though it did take 50 minutes it was a Friday night so not to worry. This was some of the best Lamb Rogan Josh i ever had. ANd the green curry – some kind of Saag Gosht variant with chicken – was superb, and almost toooo rich. chicken tikka was also great and all arrived piping hot, well presented and with plenty of tasty rice. Will def be ordering again.

won’t be back……

found the people were rude and when our meals came out they spilled curry on my hand bag and didn’t even apologise or offer to get something to clean it!

found the price for BYO more expensive then most places

A can of coke 3 dollars

I was stunned at the rudeness and overpricing

Nice food but after tonight I will never go back there, they deliberately tried to over charge us and when I called the lady on it she totally knew. Really unimpressed, its a shame because the food is nice but they are cheats.

We eat here on a regular basis. Very friendly staff and fast efficient service. Food is always reliable and tasty. Clean and well lit. They also have a child’s booster seat for the table. Takeaways are very popular here too!

I love the curry leaf in new lynn, its so yummy, we always have the butter chicken and rogan josh.Whenver we go in they arent too busy and are very friendly, once my rogan josh wasnt spicy enough so they offered to add extra chillies.
I cant understand how awful that persons experience could have been when i have gone neally once a month for a few years now and have never ever experienced anything quite so bad.
our meals are always in the right order and have decent timings of arrival.
I dont know what this person could possibly be talking about but from the many many times i have been to the curry leaf they have all been magnificent and leave me wanting more!

Absolutely terrible!
Walked in pleasantly surprised by the cute decor & atmosphere, but from then on it all went down hill.
There was a group of six of us & we had to go up & ASK for our menus. We then ordered our drinks (a mixture of coke, juice & 2 mango yogurt drinks) the yogurt drinks (which one would think takes a little more prep than a coke) came out first (after approx 20 mins) & the rest of the drinks didn’t come out for at least another 15 mins. We placed our orders & after a long wait of 50mins to an hour we laid eyes on our first serving of food, consisting of my MAIN & another persons ENTREE & MAIN TOGETHER! We started to wait for the rest of the food to arrive until being told by the rest of our table to “eat while it was still hot”.
I can’t remember the exact order in which things eventually began to follow – but I do remember that I had finished eating when the others STARTED to receive their food. The curries came without the nann bread & for others the nann came without the curries. Everyone started eating and THEN came the rest of the entrees.
By the time everyone had had enough of what they were going to get our 6th & final meal came out – BLACK tailed rubber prawns on a bed of limp dry looking salad (this meal was priced at $2 more than everyone else’s!) & was deemed inedible & promptly sent back to the kitchen, with refusal of ordering another meal.
Apart from the shambles of the service the curries were rather tasty – however if you were to dare visit this place I’d strongly recommend you called in your order a day or 2 in advance so they had time to prepare.
The waitress was very rude & unapologetic for the way we were being treated. After our meals we WAITED to catch her eye so that we could get 2 doggy bags. Once I thought I caught her eye from across the small room & gestured her over & she started to walk towards us but then stopped at the 2 tables in front & beside us – then walked away.
By this time, I walked over two the door way of the kitchen & WAITED AGAIN for a good 5-10mins LOOKING at the trays that I needed. A member of staff in the kitchen wearing a yellow sari looked at me & I gestured her over – again to be totally ignored & have her turn away from me.
Finally the waitress came back out & I asked for 2 doggy bags & was handed the trays & sent back to my table to do it myself!
When we went up to pay (we all paid separately) it took another 20mins as the woman doing the calculating was $7 short – unfortunately there was no $7 item & instead of just letting us out of there after our complaints she insisted we hang around checking each of us off a SECOND time to figure out where her addition had gone wrong.
After pleading our case & complaining about the service we were told that the “BOSS” was not around & therefore they could do nothing about it. What we would like to know is if the “BOSS” wasn’t around – who on site actually had the liquor licence?
WILL NOT BE GOING BACK HERE EVER AGAIN!
