I have often enjoyed going to da vincis as they have really good pizza. However tonight was a different story as the staff were very unpleasant we made an enquiry as to how much we were charged because we thought we were over charged but with no receipt we couldn’t check this. The young girl then tried looking for the receipt and couldn’t find it either, that would have been fine to just leave it at that had she not been so rude. there is such thing as customer service!!

i respect Morris Lindsays comments, but I must say my experience tonight being a thursday night at 7.02pm is quite the contrast.
I phoned at 6.57pm on the inveigle listed number was greeted by the answer service saying the line is busy but in less than 2 minutes the phone line switched and a vibrant young woman answered, she was a delightful person to talk to and took my order. As i told the young woman i am going to pick up, she then came back with ‘your order will be ready in about 15minutes…

I go to davincis on a regular basis (for quite some years now) and their pizza in my opinion is the best in town. I find some of the bad comments on here funny, and bad reviews are made by women (in my years of cutomer service experience women dramatise things a fair bit) but there is the exception of the rediculous attitude of morris’s review (take a chill pill – it sounds like you have a deeper grudge with them? Maybe a pshycolgist can help you?).

On the odd occasion I have been unable to get through on the phone but this is obviously due to a high volume of calls which says something in itself about the good repution of this business and that they are obviously a busy place. Ive always had top service from the staff except a bit of sarcasm I recieved from one of the younger females that worked there (that time of month maybe?) In which I made a comment to the manager about and was recieved quite well with appologies.

Their pizza has plenty of toppings which go right to the edges and their buffet had plenty of selection. I would highly recommend them over any other pizza outlet in Invercargill.
For the comment about the desserts – what are you expecting? this isnt a 5 star restuarant! Dont let others deter you, try it for youself.

We had a table booked 4 adults 1 child sat down food was slow and it was like a race to get the best with other customers. Went to the counter to ask for another water and was treated like I was a naughty kid and told to wait. The look she gave me was that bad another lady customer commented on it… Deesert was limited and looked terrible. Oh and not to mention very limited amounts..Sad night out

Unimpressed! I don’t recommend ordering over the phone and getting delivery. After payment via credit card I was then informed that delivery would be an hour. Nothing I could do about it now as it had been charged to my phone. After an hour and a half I rang up to see where our order was and was informed the driver was just leaving and it would be another 10 to 15 mins. I politely expressed my frustration at not being told of the wait prior to paying and was told that I was told and that there was nothing they would do. I said i would appreciate if they would throw in a drink or something to make up for the wait and was told no I was told and there was nothing they would do. Terrible customer service. Their pizza is good but with appalling service like this we won’t be going back!

Had pizza delivered two times now and both times have been on time and the pizza has been hot and yummy. Wouldnt go anywhere else now!!!!

I along with 4 of my mates went to Da vincis Invercargill tonight the customer service was appauling.I was served by an older lady.I Asked my partner what he wanted whilst i opened a text from my mother letting me know what flavour pizza she and her partner wanted.My partner and friends were still deciding what pizzas they wanted and the lady snarily said to me well are you going to text or are you going to order its because she thought i was being rude…all the while i was just getting to that text..so i said im NOT TEXTING im opening a mail that has part of my order in it…..I really felt like walking out this was embarassing and very VERY rude.EVEN IF A CUSTOMER IS IS NOT ORDERING STRAIGHT AWAY AS THEY ARE DECIDING YOU DO NOT LET YOUR CUSTOMER SERVICES GO OUT THE DOOR.And if she had the cheek to say that to me i wounder what she would say to other people..i am very very shocked and will not be going back any time soon

We have only ever had fantastic service from Da Vincis. They are not open on Mondays but excellent food and service all other days. Both take away and dine in. Highly recommended.

The pizza at DaVincis is the best in town. However, it is true that they are hard to get a hold of. They advertised that they were closing at 9pm the night we called and even though it was 8.20pm they never answered – after calling about ten times we gave up. We called in to order pizza another night and they were closed, however it said on the door that they were open!
It really is a shame because we prefer to eat from Davincis but often have to go elsewhere.

I have also had problems with the phones not being answered but try and try again ) The last time I ordered Da Vincis I ordered a delivery. I was told it would be 30 minutes after 45 I called and asked how things were going and was told it would be another 45 minutes. I queried this and was spoken to very badly by the owner. I waited another hour and nothing arrived. Called to cancel the order and was told it was on its way. It arrived 20 minutes later and was stone cold. So the owner was extremely rude and unpleasant to deal with. It was such a shame because we had enjoyed their pizzas in the past.

Morris is correct. The number does not work which is very frustrating. Going elsewhere.

I have been a diner at da vinces for almost 20 years and have never been disapointed, the pizza is the best in town, the staff are polite and helpfull and the atmosphere light and happy always a pleasure to dine in there.

We received a flier advertising a $19 1-2-3 deal for $19 which was for a large pizza, 2 chips & garlic bread, and free delivery was advertised. Sounded great, BUT:-

We rang the 0800727476 number repeatedly over of a period of hours to no avail.

We rang the listed Invercargill number 032182184 many times and no-one picked up. We checked the Yellow Pages and rang that number as well and the result was the same..no answer despite hanging on for up to 12 minutes at a time!!!!!

We rang the Gore number…same thing.

We rang the Milton number…same thing.

We rang the Oamaru number…same thing.

We rang the Wanaka number…and HELLO NZ, Wanaka answered the damn phone.

So we rang everyone again, and n-one answered. 3 Hrs have passed.

We ordered pizza elsewhere.

We will never ring Da Vincis again, not now, not ever. Neither will my friends, my family, or my workmates and since I work for Southlands largest employer NZAS, you people just probably lost thousands of customers.

I hope Da Vincis go broke over the pathetic service and the false advertising.

I am approaching Consumer Institute as well.

Service…does not exist!!!
