As a returning expat to Devonport and being bewildered by the vast changes happening to New Zealand (price of milk, how did that happen) one of my first requirements back home was locating a good chippy and I am happy to say I have found it with Delissimo’s in Devonport. Nick and Pop bring back those yester years that I thought had disappeared in Kiwiland and the price is right.

Fantastic food. We preordered our food and arrived to find all the plates set and ready to go. Unfortunately I forgot my wallet but not a worry. Zapped it through that night. The food and service is unbeatable and I can’t speak more highly of your place. And thanks for holding our little holly while we had our tea with Luke & Eva. Thanks again.

I get it, you are busy, good for you but do you really need to be so rude to customers? Am sick of giving you lot a “second chance”, won’t be back.

Some day soon you won’t be so popular and it will be because you forgot how to treat customers. It’s us locals that keep you in business and that you are pushing away…..and no, I am not alone. Ask around.

This place was great! The people were so friendly and the food was amazing. We had pizza but i saw a burger coming out of the kitchen and it was huge. Good parking in the street beside the shop and a good amount of seating inside and out. This place is a must as it is really good value for money and the food is just out of this world!!!

well I read the other reviews and share the enthusiasm. It’s getting rare to find traditional kiwi takeaway fare produced with such pride. As somebody whose work schedule frequently restricts the time I have for cooking, a source of great burgers is a wonderful thing to discover. I’ve yet to try their pizza, but can attest to the consistent quality of other choices on offer. Try the vegetarian burger, such a thing should not exist but they deliver something special. And the fish burgers are so good I’m convinced they rate as health food. The deepfried scallops are as good as you get.
Next time I guess I will have to go for the pizza, then there are more burgers to try, difficult choice with so many good options. Delightful service and a family atmosphere set this place apart. Highly recommended. Mike

What a treat to find such a wonderful eating establishment. What a shame it is so far from home.
My wife & I had occasion to be in Devonport some months ago and, needing an evening meal, popped into an eating establishment down in the main shopping area. For some reason, we decided to look elsewhere and, as fortune would have it, we found Delissimo.
We ordered takeaways and then decided that the best place to eat the meal would be right there, at one of their tables.
The staff could not have been more accommodating.
Last night, we again had to go to Takapuna for the evening and decided that it would be worth the extra milage to again visit Delissimo’s.
How right we were. The staff were again exceptional even though we had ordered a very simple meal. Extra personal touches such as a candle on the table and a ‘shared’ milkshake put into 2 glasses, topped off a beautifully cooked and presented ‘fish & chip’ meal.
We felt so ‘special’ we will certainly be returning at every opportunity.

Well, we have again had to be in Takapuna and took the opportunity to drive to Devonport, just to try out Delissimo’s pizzas and enjoy the hospitality that goes with all the meals there. The pizza was superb and the service again exceptional. Thank you nicole for another lovely evening meal – as one would say, amongst friends. I noted another family group who also very much enjoyed their sit-down meal too so, once again, keep up the good work and it was great being able to once again visit.

I grew up in Auckland and spent many of my formative years in Devonport, so when we took our 2 and 3 year old sons there for a holiday visit in recent days (from our home in Wellington), I made sure we took them to all the great spots I enjoyed as a boy. We stumbled across Delissimo when out looking for an easy takeaway tea. The first night we ordered fish and chip-style takeaways. The people there couldn’t have been more accommodating to our needs, adjusting a burger for my vegetarian wife with a special vege patte filling, splitting chips into small bags for the boys, etc. They even threw in free little chocolate fish as desserts for the boys! The following night we went back, but this time ordered their pizzas. Now, we’ve had pizzas all over the world and NZ … these were, we judged, the best we’d ever had – the highest accolate we could give them. Absolutely delicious, very reasonably priced, and again with the personal, friendly touch in the service. Now back in Wellington, we envy the locals their ability to pop in any day but Monday and get the best service and food on offer. Thanks Delissimo!!

Pizzas so tasty you keep reaching for the next slice! Crispy bases and delicious toppings. We have also had the fish and chips selection options…….best in Devonport! Offer a selection of snapper, fish of the day and hoki either crumbed or battered. To have both quality pizzas and fish and chips in one place is a huge bonus. Super friendly people who offer that personal touch that makes you keep coming back to a place…especially the chocolate fish our children were given as a treat!
