I dine at Denny’s New Lynn often, never had anything to complain about, guess it depends on the person I suppose.

Although the waitress was nice she had this tone which implied she was eager to get done with her shift and she was doing us a favour. I was greatly disappointed with my turkey meal. Turkey was really dry. Rest of the meal was ok. Huge glass of coke for $2 was great!
The biggest disappointment was the price. I paid about $19 for my turkey meal. I remember spending about $10 for much nicer food at the casino.
The only reason I went there was coz its 24/7 and i was really hungry.
Desserts are much nicer and better priced

Though the service is a little slow at times it’s not that bad and the employees from memory have always been polite. I very much enjoy their food and say they have the best cheesecake I have ever had, though I do admit it’s not exactly cheap, I still enjoy going there and would more often if I could afford it.

I have dined at Dennys New Lyn on several occasions most times against my wishes but only because they are open 24/7, on 1 paticular night I had gone there with 2 of my friends, we were shown to our tables in an orderly fashion and with great speed (mind you the restaurant had only a couple of other diners) and a few minutes later the waiter came and took our orders. So $100 + later we are sitting there waiting for our meals to arrive, I think roughly a half hour or so minutes later were greeted wth all our dishes, I had ordered the pork loin meal and was highly disappointed at the size of the portion for the amount of money they were asking for the dish! Small very very small and dry az and plus the chef had cut slices in the loin to check to see if it was cooked! and then 1 of my friends had ordered the chicken satay skewers on rice, his chicken skewers were dry as a desert! so after many minutes of arguing and I mean ARGUING with the waiter that I was not willing to pay $28 or something dollars for a stingy piece of dried up meat so please can u take this plate back and give me something else that costs the same as that dish, the waiters answer NO! Now you can understand how offended I was and was not backing down to this non-intelligent person! Im the customer I’m always right!! end result we left the Restaurant but only paid for the meals that were eaten, however, DENNYS feels that they needed to put up photos of me and my friends for no apparent reason!!!!!!! But the funny thing is I still go there every now and then against my will most times and the waiters / waitresses dont even know who I am! lol…… Disgusting restaurant! with all the bad reviews especially about your service one would think that they would be closed down or the big kahunas would do a major overhaul of customer services workers there…… Come on Dennys get your stuff together!!!!!!!!!!!…….. You dont deserve any stars with the performance that most of your workers display!!!!!!!!!!! But in order to post my comment I had to give a rating! Appalling

I dine at Dennys alot mainly because it’s open 24 hours. I went last night and got the pork loin steak and my pork was bleeding all over my plate. Soo not happy with this. Staff hapily replaced the pork but all my vegetables were cold by the time my new one got sent out
Have dined here with family a couple of times this year. Both experiences appalling! 1st experience, Nachos were soggy and disgusting and the meximelt burger was tasteless! We have been coming here a few times before and thoroughly enjoyed it so I was very disappointed with this visit. The later experience was during the last school holidays and was just as bad.We had dinner with the kids. My husband ordered Snapper and Chips for our daughter for around $18.50. My husband went to cut the fish and it wasnt snapper. They had served us gurnet. After telling the waitress that it wasnt snapper, she disagreed with us and said it was. ” My husband’s profession for the last 15 years is filleting and processing orders for various types of fish so he definitely knows his fish” I replied. She went to talk to the manager. We waited and waited. She never came back. Not happy at all. I ended up sharing my meal with my daughter.I spoke with another waitress (an older woman) who was very lovely and polite (hence the 2 stars) and asked her to tell her manager, he needed to take the Snapper & Chips off the Menu because it was false advertising and very unfair to other customers who wouldnt know the difference between the two fish. So If you ever order Snapper & chips at New Lynn, MAKE SURE that it is Snapper!! Although they gave us a refund for the meal which we never ate..we never received a sincere apology or an alternative for another meal. If I ever go to Dennys again it sure as hell wont be New Lynn!! And i’d be telling all my family and friends as well (As word of mouth travels very fast). Disappointed customer.
The most revolting restuarant I have ever been to. I felt so sick after being served I couldn’t eat my burger. The lady serving us was to my horror…sick! Every time she spoke to us she would stiff a whole lot of flem up her nose! And she was sneezing and coughing everywhere. Food was next to cold. Did not feel welcome. Appalled.

Over the years we’ve had the misfortune to patronise Denny’s in several locations.
In 2006 we visited Denny’s North Shore and waited for 15 minutes, attempting to get the attention of staff to be seated. Eventually our party left.
In 2007 we were able to get a seat in Denny’s Hobson Street but after 45 minutes we were still being told by staff to “hold on”, with no order being taken. It was well staffed and nearly empty of customers at the time. We left hungry.
A few nights ago, 2008, we turned up at Denny’s New Lynn. They have an obnoxious new policy of pre-paying for your meal. You must order and pay before you can even be seated. Coupled with this is the wall next to the pay desk covered in trespass notices against previous customers, complete with photographs.
We eventually decided on our meals, paid and were seated. Our order arrived promptly enough but without cutlery. A staff member who cleaned tables next to us for five minutes ignored any attempts at communication (and I’m quite a loud person when I want to be). We couldn’t locate any cutlery ourselves so after twenty minutes of sitting around we finished what we could with fingers and left. As we left it became apparent where the staff were: three of them were outside talking to some guy off the street we’d seen walking past when we arrived. Too bad about the pre-pay, as this was an absolute gem of a dine-and-dash opportunity both logistically and morally.
Don’t ever, ever, ever waste your time on a Denny’s restaurant. Ever.
