The food is delicious! Today I had the ribeye steak on potato mash and it was scrumptious. The service was fantastic, everyone’s friendly. Quite a neat cafĂ© setting with great atmosphere. Will definitely be back with friends.

What can I say but amazing! I had previously been to Deville’s only to purchase coffee and the odd slice with mothers groups (great place to take little kids I must say lots of room for them to run around and the staff are SO baby friendly).
My mother in law suggested we go out to lunch there one day I was a bit sceptical mainly because I had never thought of it as more than a cafe…but boy oh boy was everything scrumdidiliumpscious! Between 4 1/2 of us we ordered: the pork belly, vegetarian quesedilas, chicken quesedilias, seafood chowder and a side of chips for the kiddy…nothing…NOTHING was displeasing it was all so yummy the pork belly was A M A Z I N G it was laid out on a bed of the yummiest lentil thingy I have ever tried.
If you are after a nice lunch in a relaxed environment go here!!! They even had someone playing the piano while people ate…classy!

Often dine here when over in Nelson – a great ambience, dining in a native landscaped court yeard(which is ahuge improvement from its old cafe, Cafine).
The menu hosts a lot of local produce oddly mixed with a tex-mex influence, but it works.
It’s often busy, so make sure you’re not in a hurry.

Excellent friendly service, in beautiful dappled shade garden, however the menu hasn’t changed in months, and I’ve just had my second experience of a poor meal. The first was grissly (lets just say ‘tubes’) in a burger, and secondly a friend has just been served a severely undercooked burger, not just pink, but bleeding. The pan fried fish, stacks, breakfast options and chowder have all been very good however in the past. They are relying on their reputation I think rather than the pride in their cooking -sorry to say

I’m almost loathe to review Deville for fear that it will become too popular, and be overrun with customers!! Nelson and the Tasman district has a lot of cafes, and while most are pretty good, I haven’t found one yet that has the quirky charm or sense of joy that Deville has. The team here obviously enjoy their work and it shows in the food, service and general ambience. The menu is unpretentious, superbly executed, and just damn tasty, and the service is warm and friendly.
If there’s a better cafe in the Tasman district, I’m yet to find it.

Deville never fails.
The children love the kids baskets. Such a wonderful selection of fruits etc. It is a very child friendly place – plenty of room for movement, some toys,
I had the vegetarian Quesadilla today – it was absolutely THE best.
The service is friendly.
Fantastic cafe.
I have never been disappointed there.
Thoroughly recommend Deville and will definitely be returning very soon.
