I went to the Drunken Sailor on a Monday (31/3/14) for lunch. We arrived just after 1pm and were the only customers in the restaurant. We ordered the trio of oysters as a starter, we were in Bluff after all. 6 oysters for $22.50 they were nice if a little expensive. For the main we both ordered the pork belly. Unfortunately we didn’t get a pork belly, we got a slice of roasted pork loin which had obviously been heated up in a fry pan. It came with a massive amount of mashed potato and half a fried tomato. The potato was dry and stodgy. There was also a jus served with it that was very thick and reminded me vaguely of marmite. Although we were the only two there the food took at least 45 minutes to arrive. Despite the wonderful view I will not be returning, although I did notice the business is for sale. Hopefully the next owners do a better job.

Have been here quite a few times over the last year, food has been great, service very nice, staff we had were friendly and helpful, and the view is fantastic, would recommend, only decent restaurant in Bluff.

I went here on a Sunday for lunch with my wife.
I ordered the salmon stack on potato cakes. The salmon portions I needed a magnifying glass to find them and the potatoes cakes were the size of softballs. My wife had an oyster pie which would be lucky to have two oysters in it,
We both had a baniffe pie for desert which had an extremely hard base and very little caramel.
Out of 10 for the salmon stack I would give 4. The oyster pie 3. The deserts 5.
I entered the premises at 12.30pm and it was 2.20pm when I finished my desert.
We had to share a menu between the two of us.
It is a shame for this establishment to be serving poor quality food and providing less than favourable service when this is one of the best views to be found from a restaurant.
