5 Reviews for East Restaurant
I literally just attempted to eat my meal from East restaurant.
This has to be one of the worst meals i have ever attempted to eat.
I ordered the BBQ calamari salad, what i got was red rubber on top of unwashed lettuce.
Since when has calamari been red? and where was the BBQ?
if this isn’t bad enough after taking a smell of my “fresh” salad and then a small bite i realized that the calamari was off.
Needless to say i wont be eating there again EVER and as soon as i finish this email ill be emailing east and potentially the health department to let them know they are serving spoiled food.
Thanks for spoiling my birthday lunch East.

I don’t usually write these reviews but I had such disgusting food from East that I feel a responsibility to warn people about it. After asking the staff what seafood the Seafood Udon dish consisted of, I was told, “fish, squid and prawns”. To my horror, all the “seafood” in the meal (except for the 2 prawns) were fake, processed replications of seafood – it contained some kind of spongey fish patties and huge rubbery pieces of fluorescent red sirimi (fake crab) that made me gag just at the sight of it. All this was topped with a disgusting sweet sauce that tasted like no real distinguishable ingredients – I’m guessing they just poured it out a jar. The quality of this food offended me – these people obviously have no passion at all for food. Needless to say, I didn’t have more than one bite of my lunch. Don’t let East take your money. And don’t believe accolades on their website which are dated from when the franchise was under old ownership. Spread the word…

We go to East every week for a quick, tasty, healthy meal. The servings are generous and we highly recommend East for a great mid week take away!

Read the menu on this site and thought that we could get some vegetarian food. So we ordered 2 dishes with tofu, didn’t list any animal ingredients.
So we get it and my partners dish has the vegetables fried in some sort of sour shrimp sauce (just as well we’re not allergic to fish!) and I got mine and it uses vietnamese fish sauce which I think is pretty vile, worse still it makes the house smell awful (our last flat mate used vietnamese fish sauce and we had to air out the house for hours and hours afterwards)
It didn’t taste fresh it just tasted stale and I felt as if i’d been cheated. As I said, luckily for them neither of us have seafood allergies, still a restaurant should definitely list if they use animal products, ESPECIALLY egg or seafood.
I wouldn’t eat there again as it’s not vegetarian friendly and for the price I feel I could cook a better meal at home. Or go to Wagamama.
On the plus side delivery was cheap and fast and they do give you the option to add extra tofu or veggies.

Went there last night. Great food! really enjoyed it…except for the beginning where my food was sooo hot (temperature wise) that it burnt the sides of my mouth (I have blisters in my mouth this morning), and my tongue is still sore. Really enjoy the food but there needs to be some warning that it is really hot.
