I am fortunate to live just around the corner from Epolito’s, however did not discover this little gem until a few months go. Driving past one night with a rumbling tummy I stopped in a grabbed a Corleone. It is by FAR the best pizza I have ever tried! So much so that I refuse to buy pizza’s from anywhere else. Love the whole feel of the shop and its fascinating to watch Chick as she prepares the pizza’s. Yuuuum, think I’ll have to order one now! HIGHLY recommended!

Best pizza this side of NY or Italy! Worth the special trip as no other pizza we’ve tried in 17 yrs of living in Auckland even compares!! Thank you Chick – your recommendations are the best – KISS!!!

Always great pizzas that are huge! Epolitos is allways busy so be prepared for a wait! Service is with a smile all the time.
Great selection of toppings- especially the meatball one!
If only I lived closer!

Amazing pizza! So worth the drive to experience it! Feel very lucky that we live in Three Kings area so not too much of a drive. The crust is perhaps the highlight…my mouth waters just typing! We really enjoy the Godfather, lots of meat but tons of flavour. Can’t go past a simple Margarita either.

The Best pizza in New Zealand by far nothing in Auckland can compare to Epolito’s , There is another pizza place that claims authenticity but they are totally copying Epolito’s . You want the best . This is it …
I have to say I was mega disappointed with Epolitos. After waiting for over an hour (!!!) we were presented with soggy pizza by which time we had well lost our appetite. Not worth the wait !
Having read the previous positive reviews, we made an effort for a drive out to Epolito’s for the first time today. Actually, we drove out three times. The first time, having seen that it could be busy on a Saturday night, we turned up early, at 3:30pm. The restaurant was not yet open, but someone was sweeping and prepping inside. We returned later, at 7:30pm, saw that all the tables were full, and went to make a takeaway order. We were a little surprised on being informed that they had run out of garlic, so changed our Pizza Bianca (cheese, garlic and herbs) order to a pizza with more topping (including spinach, feta, tomatoes and olives) as suggested by the friendly lady taking our order. We were further surprised to learn that there would be a 45 minute wait, but that’s worth it for the best pizza in Auckland, right? We were getting hungry by the time we returned for the third time. After thumbing through some magazines, we received our pizzas expectantly, waiving aside the apologies for the wait. As a table was now available, we decided to eat in. The lady was very helpful, fetching us serviettes and shakers of parmesan and chilli flakes. The pepperoni and meatball pizza was delicious, and well worthy of the fellow reviewers’ praises, but the vegetarian pizza was disappointing before it reached our mouths, as the base was limp and sitting in a puddle at the bottom of the pizza carton. Flavours were fantastic though, and we are assuming this was a new addition to the menu that had perhaps not yet been perfected, as it does not appear in the online menu. Overall, probably would not go out of my way to eat here, as there are quicker and equally delicious options closer to home (Sal’s pizza).

Had a tight squeeze for a group of 10. Well worth it, had several different pizza’s, all well topped and very moreish. Looking forward to next visit. Harlem, The Godfather, Corleone amongst the favorites.
pretty much the only place to bother getting pizza in auckland!! Still hooked on the ‘on madison’ but husband swears by the ‘godfather’ or ‘corleone’ either way, never met anyone dissapointed by a visit to this local beauty!!
good service, great pizza, would recomend it to everyone.

This place is a little gem. Tucked away in Oranga, it’s not your average pizzeria. The pizzas are simple and delicious, and like most things, you get what you pay for. Worth every penny. It’s worth a visit, even if you have to travel across town.

Definitely a fine pizza place, well worth the travel if you’re not nearby. Usually I wouldn’t write a review to somewhere I’ve only been once, but the care and attention given to the food (over the distracted service) gives me a lot of confidence. I still prefer Al Volo but that’s about style (Naples vs NYC) and not quality, if that makes sense. If you feel like pizza and have transport, give them a try. Lemon and artichoke often gets mentioned, it’s great. Pizzas are big and value for money. You can’t go wrong.

Live just up the road from Epolito’s and this is a curse to our health! The best pizza in Auckland hands down. Have searched for authentic NY style pizza everywhere I’ve lived in NZ and this is the closest to what you can get back home.
Service is great as well- chef wasn’t happy with how our pizzas came out of the oven and so she made us fresh ones at no charge. The dough is thin and chewy, and the toppings melt in your mouth… At least we have to walk up a hill to get home from there!

I have to agree with my fellow posters about this place. It is off the beaten track somewhat but sooo worth the drive!! They have seating but the place is packed to the rafters Friday and Saturday nights so best to phone order if you want pizza on these nights also.
I’ve eaten pizza all over the world, even Italy but one of the best I’ve tried, certainly the best in New Zealand. The base, crust and cheese is absolutely perfect and you can’t say that about a lot of pizza’s here and the ingredients varied and fresh. You don’t get to represent NZ if you’re not damn good…and they are very very good!!! Check it out!!!

My partner is from Buffalo ( Chickalena is too) and is a serious pizza head. Most people from Buffalo are. They’ll tell you their pizza is better than Chi town pizza and NYC pizza. This may be true. Anyway the pizza can’t be knocked. Totally non pretentious pizza joint and a great asset to Auckland. Now all we need is Chickalena to teach the rest of these knuckle heads over here how to make a decent pie!
WOW, REAL Pizza in New Zealand! (I wish there were more stars as five seems insufficient!) Every one made with love, hand-stretched and twirled-in-the-air base, by a New Yorker who KNOWS New York Pizza! “Pizza you can spill!” (not cardboard pizza you hold with one hand like polystyrene) Real Italian/American sauce, real pepperoni, and don’t pass up the Italian Meatballs! I drive an hour just to get one!

This place is awesome the best pizza and great atmosphere. Chickalena is a full on personality and we could hear her before we entered the place. So friendly they really make you feel like you are a part of the whole place. Each pizza is hand stretched and made with fresh ingredients. Fantastic food.
