The story of the name “Erawan”:
The extremely rare silvery white and grey elephant commanded the very highest respect in Buddhist areas of western Indochina.
It graced the centre of the flag of ancient Siam, now modern Thailand.
In the course of his many animal reincarnations, the Enlightened One entered the body of not just the wisest of beasts, but the rarest and most handsome specimen of them all.
“Mouth open, head the colour of cochineal,
tusks gleaming like silver,
all aglitter with precious stones,
clad in finest of golden tulle,
his limbs and organs were flawlessly proportioned,
his bearing majestic”.

An extremely quiet night yet we still had to constantly go and find staff to take orders for drink and food. When they did come there was no smile or courtesy, just very bored and grumpy looking staff.
We asked them about the owner, Patrick, apparently he doesn’t come in anymore. It shows.
Food was greasy and lacked flavour.
Won’t be back.

Great food, fantastic service, good ambience. It is expecially good for big groups. Not recommended for quiet romantic dinners as it can get a bit loud at times expecially in the weekends.
I am a fan because it is one of the best value for money dining expereince I have had.

We ordered fresh spring rolls and satay chicken for our entrees and beef massaman, pad thai and deep fried fish fillets in tamarind sauce for our mains. All were absolutely brilliant, with the fish, beef massaman and chicken satay being the particular highlights for me. The staff were friendly and attentive without being pushy or hovering over us excessively. The meal proved to be great value for money with all dishes being under $20 and of ample proportions. I would definitely visit again.
