In comparison to all previous reviews, I suppose we got lucky. We were the only patrons in the restaurant at the time (mid-afternoon) and received good service.
Food was ok, over-priced for the quality.
Wouldn’t choose to go back, but if wouldn’t avoid like the plague either.

Ok, havent been here yet and given the reviews I won’t bother taking advantage of my Treat Me voucher. Sounds like I’d be dispppointed. Lesson: research venue BEFORE buying Treat Me vouchers.

Worst dining experience I have ever had. They promote themselves as warm & welcoming, capable of dealing with groups, however the service was appalling & staff were disorganised and overwhelmed by our booking of 16 people for a birthday dinner. Drinks took 20 mins + to arrive, and the meal service was atrocious – four of our party still had not received our mains an hour after all others at our table had been served, even after repeated & polite requests as to where the rest of our meals were. The food was a mix of average to awful. I am gobsmacked that they are still operating, someone needs to take charge at that place or it wont last.

Went in here for a coffee. It took half an hour to arrive. Staff didnt seem to care, they were laughing about it. There were only about 10 other people in there, seemed like they ignored us on purpose or something. Would never go back, even if the drinks were free. Just a bad vibe.

At first this seemed to have a warm and inviting atmosphere. Took 25 mins for our drinks to arrive and they were watery and overpriced.
Most of us ordered 2 or 3 starters each instead of a main. One of mine failed to turn up and the other two were tasteless and were nothing like thier menu description.
Would not reccommend to others at all.

The atmosphere draws you in, but unfortunately their food falls short of the promise of exotic Latin cuisines.
The starters (we had empanadas and cassava chips) were substantial, but their “mains” fell on the short side and were quite small.
Drinks were 20+ minutes to arrive (non alcoholic), and starters took 30 minutes, mains taking 45 minutes after the starters arrived.
For Latin American flavor the food falls short of its promises of exotic spices, steak was not marinated and was rather plain.

I am not surprised by the low ratings this restaurant has received. We bought a voucher for this place from the 1-dayout website which offered a large platter for 4-6 people. When I presented this voucher for 4 of us who went dining together, the platter turned up with just 3 pieces for each portion. I was at least expecting 4 pieces given that it was a platter for 4-6. I complained and after lengthy debates, which I least expected, that also suggested that ‘..this was only an offer to lure customers..’, they finally relented and brought us another platter. I wonder how many other voucher holders have had similar experience and were left shortchanged ! Also, did I mention the horrible service ? I think the waiters need to learn some manners and the kiwi way of treating people..let alone customers.

Overpriced e.g. $23 for Pollo Ballotine which consisted of a couple of small slithers of tough/chewy chicken on a cabbage sauce mixture. Couldn’t spot the sweetcorn or bacon. Some of the “Small Plates” looked more substantial than the “Mains”! There was an hour or so delay on serving dinner for the table next to us (who were part of our group) due to an issue in the kitchen. I was ignored by the waiters behind the counter for a number of minutes whilst clearly waiting at the counter to pay my bill. Some written explanations of the menu terms or photos of the dishes would have been useful. Live music and dancing was great though!

Worst customer service ever!!!!
Went there for my birthday and the it was the worst experience ever! Food took more than an hour to get served. I had one more guest and asked for a chair. 20 minutes later, no chair. Asked the same waiter and said sorry, he forgot. Asked another waiter and got one after 15 minutes. Also asked the bar for a drinks menu and the bartender said he’ll give us one at our table. Waited for 10 minutes, saw another bartender and asked her, and she said they don’t have one printed yet!! Five minutes after the waiter was taking our order, another one came back asking for them again cause apparently it was all wrong!! Two people in our party didn’t get their food, but were told they can get a complementary drink, any drink. My friend asked for a margarita but instead got a mojito. Maybe because it’s the easiest one to make. Paying time took 20 minutes per person!! Of course the one assigned to take payments DID NOT KNOW HOW TO WORK AN EFTPOS MACHINE!!!
I am thinking the wait staff were hired solely because of their south American accent. It was very very disorganized and distressing and it was the most horrible customer service ever!!
Food was good (albeit, overpriced), atmosphere was good but that doesn’t mean anything when customoer service is horrible!!

My husband and I were excited about trying a new restaurant that served Latino cuisine. The doorman was friendly and got us inside, but once inside we were ignored at the front waiting for a table for five minutes and then seated, we waited for menus for another five minutes when we looked at each other and said, “Let’s just go”. Too bad the owners of this place don’t realize that their staff and not the food or atmosphere will kill this place before it even has a chance to get off the ground. I will not be back…or maybe once a new restaurant is in it’s place, I’ll try again.

Worst dining experience in Wellington in years. No table for our booking of 4 at the time we had booked, finally after 15 minutes of standing in the foyer, a table suitable for 2 was put in the walkway, had to request menus, watered down cocktails (as admitted by waitstaff because they were on special, $32 for soda and mint???) Waited over an hour for the starts then all meals came at the same time, we had to get another table joined, the bottle of wine was “sold out” yeah right. The food was great but have had better service from a food cart in Laos. The waitstaff have no idea whats going on and obviously have had no training, perhaps instead of hanging out talking to their mates coming in,they should concentrate on the diners.

Did you eat at this restaurant? Have an opinion to share?

My boyfriend and I went for Valentine’s day which luckily was a Monday which is 2 for 1 mains. The food, in a word, was crap and I agree, some of the dishes need to have an explanation because I didn’t know what a number of the mains were. One thing the waitress desrcibed as ‘bread soaked in milk and made into a mush’. Might want to work on making that more tempting.
The service was terrible, we were asked for ID multiple times and the woman was incredibly rude who said she was the manager.
However, I went back and had the most amazing Caipirinha from a very passionate Bolivian/Brazilian bartender who also did me an awesome Pisco Sour.
So, for drinks I would say yes, for food, no, no way.
My 2 stars are really just for the nice bartender and his awesome drinks.
In terms or service, it was terrible by NZ standards but in Latin America it is common for meals to take a long time and to have big breaks between courses because a meal out will often last 3 or 4 hours where you can socialise and etc. with friends.
