I have been to Eve’s Pantry, Albany a couple of times and never had a good experience.

Either the coffee is awful, or the service is rude and/or slow, or both.

I am a huge coffee addict – really, you don’t know how addicted – yet if I am at the mall at Albany and don’t have time to walk upstairs to get a coffee (i.e. Eve’s Pantry is the only place I have time to go) I would happily go without. Really.

I ordered a 21st cake from Eves Pantry and on picking it up was very disappointed in the presentation. One of the decorations (a monkey) had a break right through the leg and when bought to their attention they did nothing about it and I was still charged full price. Very disappointing indeed. Customer service could have been a lot better as they were aware I was not happy with the result.

Despite publishing their Saturday closing time as 6.00 pm, at 4.45 when I went for a coffee, chairs were being stacked on tables and the floor was being mopped in what were clearly somewhat premature end of day cleaning routines.

Even though I chose a seat furthest from the cleaning activity, the cleaner hovered around my table and before long I was surrounded by a forest of chairs on tables.

Very poor hospitality and service in this respect.

Either the cafe shuts at 6.00 pm or it doesn’t. But don’t hound your guests out of the place until then, or at least advising them that you’re imminently about to shut.
