Right from the start the staff were friendly, efficient and useful.
Good coffees came out not long after ordering.
Food came out very fast also & was delicious!!
There was a lot of table envy amongst us every different dish we ordered looked good.
Decor was very nice also.
Definitely will be back! Thanks Firepot!

We descended with family from Cambridge & Hamilton and had a great night. The age range was from 82 – 3 yrs old and as a mum, with children, it was a lovely meal for me (Salmon) and the children were ecstatic with the goodie bag with activities and treats that came with their meals! Adults were eyeing up the kids desserts.
Staff were attentive without being in our face and they handled the mix of payment options with ease (vouchers, split bill etc)
Will be heading there again in a few weeks so may write it up again! Have popped in for coffee often and they are always lovely and awesome food – this review is about their dinner which apparently is only avail on Fridays…

For example: the crispy-skinned salmon doesn’t have crispy skin. The meat of the salmon is great and cooked just right, but no crispy skin–so why put that in the description? The mushroom fettuccine tasted ok, but the pasta was not fettuccine (and the presentation really let this dish down as well, tasted fine but looked like brown sludge). The tapas platter turned out to consist entirely of deep fried items and everything looked the same (not exactly a feast for the eyes). The Thai Salad looked and tasted more like a Kiwi’s attempt at an Asian-tasting coleslaw, and had tinned fried noodles mixed in–how 1980s!
As I say, everything tasted ok, just not what was expected and most of it didn’t have eye appeal. Very average and at the price, we were expecting something above average (or at the least, that the dishes should match the descriptions).
I deducted a star because of a bad experience in attempting to use a 2-for-1 voucher. I phoned to make a reservation, they stated that I could book a table for the evening, then when I added that I had a voucher they stated that we couldn’t eat there that night after all! Very, very bad form for the Firepot to decide not to honor the conditions of their own vouchers; if they’d wanted to limit the number of vouchers used in a given evening then they should have added that to the conditions when I purchased the thing.
So final verdict: average food, poor presentation, extremely poor customer relations.

We had stopped for breakfast enroute to Napier, it turned out to be delicious and well worth our stop, coffee is excellent too. We will return without a doubt.
