Tasty take-out food (juicy crisp fish) and at a reasonable price. But they charge extra for a paper towel or plastic fork…! C’mon, is it really worth processing my eftpos card for 10cents!?! Crazy.

We have visited the Fish Pot Cafe a number of times and had good experiences. However, our recent visit wasn’t so great. We bought takeaway tarakhis and chips. Both were so oily and dark yellow suggesting the oil hasn’t been changed in a while. The batter was hard and unappetising. Not great value for money. Will be a while before we consider going back.

Well, after a successful day at the races on Boxing Day, we decided to stop by on the way home. Ordered 4 pieces of Tarakihi, chips and a sausage. The fish was nicely cooked, as was the chips and tasted great. The sausage, however looked like it had been rescued from the bottom of the fryer after having been sat in there for a couple of days… overcooked and dry. Didn’t let that spoil what was overall a pleasant experience.

Visiting from Australia and tried Fish Pot Cafe for an early take away dinner. Was great. Fish juicy, batter crisp and chips were tasty. Ate it across the road in the park, enjoying the sunshine near the beach. Staff cheerful and service quick. Would definitely recommend.

5 Stars is almost an understatement! Have experienced both dine in and takeaway and both times the food and service was all you could ask for and more. Firstly the dine in experience consisted of me, my wife and some stunning food and service. We had both a waiter and a waitress looking after us throughout the night and both individuals were pleasant and attentive. The food was out of this world! I had a garlic calamari and it was divine.
As for takeaway we were not familiar with the Fishpot’s way of ordering(they have choices between fresh and frozen fish and then sizes of fish) Don’t know why we were surprised when the staff member taking orders happily walked us through the ordering process. Overall the takeaway food was excellent and (as I said before) the service great.
We will definitely be going back for both takeaways and dine in!
Thanks Fishpot

I bought takeaways from Fish Pot Café… The batter on the fish was very light and crispy and the fish was juicy – very nice and fresh! The chips were hot and crunchy. Would advise either tearing a hole in the parcel to let steam out or eating straight away otherwise they go soggy. One of the best places to go for fish and chips

We were hesitant to get Fish Pot Cafe takeaways after looking at some of the reviews but we were nothing but impressed! Have been there twice recently and had a fantastic takeaway meal both times. We found the combo of fish, potato fritter and chips are great value and a very generous serving. The fish was delicious and perfectly cooked, yummy potato fritter and great chips. Will definitely head there again over summer.

Have been going to fish pot for a while now and am a big fan. The service is always the best and the food is just as good. The mussels are to die for. The waiters/owner are always keen for a chat and were very helpful. The prices are very reasonable for what you get and the area it is in. Will definitely be going back soon.
On holiday from the UK and visited Mission Bay, went to have Fish and Chips from the Fish Pot Cafe.
They were fantastic the batter on the fish was to die for. Will be revisiting before we go home. Also must thank the waitress the service was impeccable
Thanks again the gang from the UK

I am a regular customer at The Fish Pot Cafe in Mission Bay and would like to say that they have yet to dissapoint. The food is great and the service is always wonderful, making the whole experience of dinning in and taking away, a pleasure. The fish is always fresh and cooked in a deliscious batter, chips are crisp and my favourite is the battered calamari. I would suggest anyone looking for some good ol’ fish chips, should try it!

I have had a takeaway of fish and chips at Fish Pot Cafe a few days ago and I found it to be just as fine as can be. The battered fish taste fresh and crispy as well as the chips. It smells good.
As winter time is up, the secret to have your takeaways be kept hot as you would like is just to tear a bit or make enough hole on the wrap to pick up the pieces, besides eating them as fast as you can to avoid getting cold and oily.

Fish Pot Cafe offers the finest fish and chips in the region. It has great food and superb customer service. I just love their garlic prawns and calamari so much. So lip-smacking! My family and friends always find time to dine in here fortnightly as we clamor for their delicious foods. It is highly recommended to dine in and for takeaways.

I’m a regular customer at fish pot and i cant complain about their food except i love it. The service they give me and my family is great. Even though there is a hefty price to pay i still think it is worth your money. FISH POT CAFE 5 STARS
I dined in with my family & spent $ 105 which I will never ever do again. The food was disgusting & the service was terrible. All our meals looked like it had been dumped on top of a bed of sliced lettuce & bought out to us. I was highly disappointed with the Poisson Cru (raw fish); the fish was overcooked – looked & tasted like it had been poached. My son took 1 bite of his hamburger & didn’t touch it again – the meat pattie was burnt.

The food and especially the service was horrible.
I went there for lunch on a busy Saturday and was greeted with, “Are you here for lunch or to use to the toilet”?
Normally I would have walked out then and there but we were starving and both knew what we wanted from the menu.
After 3 requests we were finally brought water which was warm (this was a very hot day).
The server looked like she hated her work spent more time at the front chatting with the staff then actually working.
My meal came to 23 dollars and consisted of a few pieces of iceberg lettuce soaked with dressing and an extremely small portion of fish. The fish was nice and hot but extremely bland and needed more seasoning, thank god for lemon.
My friend enjoyed her fish but unfortunately the fries were extremely soggy and cold.
Not once were we checked up on or asked how the meals were.
We won’t be back anytime soon.

Poor.
THats the service, the food the the condition of your wallet after an overpriced meal. Thank goodness they are no longer the monopoly fish and chip shop around. It was a pain heading to mission bay because you didnt want to fork out 10 dollars for an onion ring, and some old lettuce on a stale bun. It use to be better. but somethings, but the last few times were just off the chart bad! Not going back again!

I have only had takeaways from here, not dined in . . . but this is one of my favourite takeaway places for fish & chips. The chips and fish are lightly golden and crisp. (I always ask them to drain the fish well though, otherwise it’s a bit too greasy.)
We love to sit in the park right across the road by the beach.
Had a fish burger for the first time recently though, and it was really average. The fish in it was great as usual, but the fairly bland burger was definitely average . . . and they didn’t put the promised beetroot in my one. Stick to the fish and chips.
Make sure you put a phone order in before you go, coz the queues are often spilling out the door into the street.

Gross. That is all I have to say. Who deep fries an onion, puts it on a bun and calls it a veggie burger. EW!
Dreadful meal there first week this year with an overseas visitor, we paid $77 for 2 snapper, rice and crappy salad and one coke and there was no ice available, it was a boiling hot summers day, I had to go next door to get some ice for my partners coke. Very overpriced, service bad, thats the last time I go there and we often take visitors there, and its just a rip off!
The best fish i have had,and i come from England. They cook it the way you want.
