My partner and I eat at Flavours at least once a week. Ever since we first dined at Flavours it has been our favourite local restaurant and takeaway. The food is great (especially the chicken lollypops)and the service is efficient and polite. The only problem we have found is that the meals are too big, so after trial and error we have discovered that one curry and one starter between us is the perfect amount. If we are especially hungry we order more and usually pay between $26 and $50 for two.
Flavours is our favourite local restaurant – the chicken soula and saag ghosh (not sure about the spelling?) are great, the staff are friendly and warm surroundings are perfect for a winter treat.

Called up Flavours, as have just moved to Karori and occasionally enjoy Indian cuisine.
They advertised as having delivery available, but when I called them I was not able to pay by credit card over the phone so made the hike up the hill to go and get my food.
I ordered the Tikka Murg entree, Lamb Jalfrazi for the main, and a Mango Lhassi to accompany the curry and balance out the spice.
The staff were polite, but without any spark and although the dining room was warm in terms of decor, the staff did not display the same warmth.
The Murg Tikka was very tasty, the chicken was reasonably tender, but too much coriander was used.
The Lamb Jalfrazi was basically rubbish – the lamb was cooked well but with far too much gristle. There were good chunks of veges in the dish, but the curry sauce itself, although hot(spicy) was very bland – no rich or outstanding taste.
The rice was cooked very well, with each piece seperate – probably the best part of the meal.
The Mango Lhassi was overpoweringly yogurty – not enough mangoes used, and surely not fresh ones – also the yogurt was quite sugary and clearly a cheap brand used.
All in all, the overall experince was below average – the food (mostly) edible, the service lacking warmth. Wouldnt visit again unless the food improved significantly.
(total paid $30.50)

Had read several good reviews of this place, but I wasn’t blown away. We got some takeaways and they were decidedly average, largely due to a lack of (cough) flavour. Definitely not the best saag I’ve had.

Great place to dine in, and a delicious takeway menu option, best butter chicken in wellington by far

I had stereotyped flavours as a typical “Indian Takeaway”, and generally I don’t enjoy Indian food. Therefore I was pleasantly surprised when I really enjoyed my meal. I have subsequently been back many times – long may it continue. I try a different dish each time and have yet to be dissapointed, the service is consistently prompt, efficient and friendly. Comfortable to eat at as well.

We are regulars, we eat there once or twice a fortnight. The Butter Chicken is the best in Wellington: tangy and succulent. It’s a really cosy, casual place to go. Definitely try the Paneer Tikka.
Wonderful food, excellent service by Dixita she helped me to choose my curry asking me a few questions like what kind of test I like and she explained the spices and herbs they use to make different curry. I enjoy a lot. My partner she always comes for take away.
My best compliments to the Chefs for lovely food and awesome presenter who serve the customer best. Thanks Dixita. Hope I spell your name correct.
