“The food at Wharepuke stood out as one of our highlights. The flavours were fresh, crisp and clean and cooked to perfection.” – Toni L. reviewer 23/10/09.
‘Food at Wharepuke’ is an owner operated business located in Kerikeri in the beautiful Bay of Islands, Northland.
We grow a lot of our own vegetables and micro herbs, spray free, on an acre block, within a subtropical garden of regional significance.
Colin the chef owner, recently won the Metro award for best dessert 2008 for his Panna cotta whilst working in Waiheke island.
Food at Wharepuke serves a blend of Modern European and Thai flavours, using as much of fresh, Northland sourced produce as we can.
Only free range chicken and pork is used and also Organico – Fair-Trade coffee.
There are also 5 Eco friendly cottages on site, a newly opened art gallery and an acre garden of subtropical planting to walk around.
We cater for weddings, functions, and special occasions, out cater, and have just started a range of products.
You can also drop in at lunchtime for casual cafe-style fare.

The setting is like being in the Islands. So beautiful and peaceful. You even see wood pigeons.
If you have guests this is a delightful place to take them. Check Wharepuke out for yourself and see if you agree with me!

We had eaten there several times and being so impressed with the food and the surroundings, thought how wonderful it would be to be married there.
And wonderful is exactly what it was.
After the wedding service in the lush garden, we had the most delicious canapes served as peopled mingled in the garden.
Our reception was in the top class amazing restaurant nestled in amongst subtropical gardens- a staff served, sit down, three course meal.
