I’ll have to agree with C Topp on their review. That dish is the best I.ve tasted in this country and if you want fish and chips, go to the takeaways!!!! Also they are an important business in our community in regards to restaurants so stop the hater action.

My wife and I spent just over two weeks in Turangi and really only ‘ate out’ three times. On our last night we decided to call into the four fish and grab a couple of take away pizza’s. They would have to rate as the worst I have have ever eaten – and I have eaten quite a few. My wife had the special which allegedly had prawns, calamari, mussels etc etc. There was one tiny prawn, no squid and no mussels. It was basically tasteless. I ordered a vegetarian and tried to pep it up a bit with pepperoni – the result was also very tasteless and disappointing.
Its a great town with enough people to easily justify a couple of pizza places – a good one would clean up.

Myself and the boys were sorting out a deceased estate and we needed a good feed. We read the reviews and decided to take a gamble, it was worth the risk.
The waiter was a little short when we first arrived, but I can’t blame him as when the booking was made it was along the lines of “four blokes on a bender and we are hungry”. Anyway service was excellent and the food was well presented and tasted great and the price – excellent.
Take the risk – it is worth the effort

I must say I agree with Bert. My family and I dined at this restaurant on the 28/12/08.The male waiter was very Rude!! We had the fish and chips which were of a poor quality and very overpriced $28.50! for this price you would expect Snapper or Blue Cod not Gurnard!! The setting was very dull to be honest it was like eating at Denny’s. I will be telling all of my friends and family to steer well clear of this place. Andrew P.

We visited this place 30/12/2008 and I hope that this menu was a Christmas experiment because the ambiance and in particular the service of the male waiter, who looked and acted exhausted, did not justify the prices for entrees @ $15.00,$17.00 and mains @$28.00, $32.00 when we studied the menu. But sometimes first impressions can be wrong. Not this time, the food served did not justify the prices. If you charge $28.00 for Fish and Chips as a main, it must be of exceptional quality and exceed any take away. It did not, like the rest of the mains. I did miss the distinct tuna flavour in my tuna steak,(@$32.00) due to quality of fish and preparation and I heard similar comments around the table. Most restaurants now a days, list a recommended wine with their menu! When I asked for a glass I was told that I could not get a glass of the recommended wine but had to order a bottle?? There is always a first time.
On a positive note, we did like the salad @ $ 4.50 and the deserts. But overall we felt that all dishes where overpriced.
