My family and I ate at Frank’s for the second time today.

We were again extremely disappointed with the service. The man who runs the place seems as though he has never heard of a smile, he is also blunt and incredibly uninterested in his customers. When dining out you expect to be greeted with a friendly face, we did not experience this even once.

The food is nice, however, the lacking service retracts from the enjoyability of the meal.

My family and I will not be visiting Frank’s again.

Ordered pizza for pickup one night, was quoted 20 minutes over the phone and arrived 25 minutes later – order had not even started to be cooked, and took a further 20 minutes. Owner was rude. Pizza itself was just passable, pizza bread was excellent.

Due to this terrible service, I would have just given 2 stars, but I went back in the next morning to get a takeaway coffee (someone had told us they do good coffee) and the coffee was great and the service the next morning was excellent… Perhaps they just needed a good nights sleep.

Lunch and breakfast over Queen’s Birthday weekend. Nachos are some of the best I’ve ever had (and I’ve had a lot), breakfast was also excellent quality. Service a little forgetful but it was busy. Great spot on the waterfront for any time of day.

Majority of places in the area have main meals at $25-$30 which is ludacris (coming from an Aucklander!)

Franks was great as it was a fun environment with people coming and going yet was relaxing at the same time

Will definitely go back and highly recommend!

Great value for money!!

I am utterly disappointed with Frank’s lack of service and total disregard for their patrons. They do a disservice to be operating in a tourist spot in this beautiful town. Not only did we wait for 1 hour and 20 minutes before our meal was served, when it did arrive it was incorrect. Bacon being served to vegetarians! And wait, no apology for that. Instead we were yelled at by the woman who maybe the manager however she thought her hangover needed more attention than us, the paying customers. Their error of our order cost us – we paid for the meal but were not served the food. So we have been ripped of ($44.95)!!! Certainly don’t recommend going to this spot. I had overseas visitors and they were shocked at the behaviour of staff at this cafe.

Sorry to say that I had a really poor experience at Frank’s. The bar service was matter of factual and awkward and to top it all – he got our order completely wrong! We got chicken instead of meat and we don’t eat chicken. No customer care whatsoever and we will not be back.

We had a take away Pizza from Franks, but collected it so are also able to comment on the environment. Franks is just across the road from the waterfront so has an interesting outlook. The decor is fairly basic but you can sit inside or outside . Service was effective and prompt but the person who took our order could learn to smile. The Pizza was very enjoyable and definitely better than the Pizza chains. We would use them again.

What a fantastic find Franks was for us on our holiday in Paihia. It ended up being our home away from home. A friendly atmosphere, great service, awesome spot outside or in. We were remembered and welcomed by the staff. Most important was to find great coffee (finally) in Paihia. They have a signature breakfast which is addictive it is so good. Fresh fab salads and the best pizzas we have had in New Zealand by far -

The food was simply Fabulous!!!

Franks had a good atmosphere with dimmed lights and gorgeous painting on the wall that were available for purchase. They had a wide range of drinks that were perfect at the end of a day. The cocktail selection was grand. The food was quite nice but i think it could have been a bit more flavourful but was satisfying none the less. A good place to go at the end of the day, casual and fun.
