The blackboard outside claimed the coffee available within was Cromwell’s best coffee. I haven’t tried all of the competition so I cannot agree or disagree, but the long black was more than acceptable. In my experience, though, the very best cafes provide a small jug of hot water with a long black – or at the very least offer it when taking the order. Fusee Rouge did not. I had an excellent fresh muffin, the service was pleasant and friendly and the atmosphere was good. $3.50 is a reasonable price for a long black, too. Many others ask black coffee drinkers to subsidise the milk for flat white/latte/capuccino drinkers by charging the same for all. A good place for coffee, and the food cabinet looked impressive.
