We went here to celebrate a 40th. We planned a week in advanced and decided on a set menu. The portions were very small however they were tasty. Service was average however glasses and plates didnt seem clean. A few of the plates and forks had food stuck to it that didnt come out in dishwashing. When it came to pay our portion of bill, they charged $5 each bottle for corking fee. I understand they can do this however it was not mentioned anywhere during the planning process nor disclosed when picking out menu. When brought to the attention of manager, they seemed indifferent and non compassionate. Furthermore they charged for every bottle brought even if it was unopened. Our lasting impression was we felt ripped off and our friends and family will never go to this place again!!

I am yet to have the pleasure of dinning in at Galangal but I have felt compelled to write a review of the take-away food… The food was amazing probably the best Thai that I have had in Christchurch in a long long time. The take away prices were very reasonable also being cheaper than the dine in. With tastes reminiscent of Mai Thai and very generous servings Galangal has become our staple Thai take-away and I look forward to getting the chance to dine in. The green curry is a must and the jungle curry with prawns will blow you away.
