Excellent, friendly service. Great atmosphere. Been there for lunch a few times a few years ago and had great food and just went there again for dinner last Friday. Impressed with scallops entree and mussel appetizer which even my wife loved who typically is not a seafood fan. All menu items looked great but went with the duck and chicken goujons which we were very happy with.

Very Very Nice.. my partner and i dine out once a week, we like to try a different restaurant each time, The gallery overall has to be one of the best places in palmerston north, food is alway great, very consistant.. and a comment about the corkage it s only $5.00 per bottle, rather than the $10 per head per bottle that the user above has stated.. absolutly worth a try, excellent service and convenient car parking which is a rare find this day and age.

We had our wedding here in December 08. It was amazing! The food was perfect, the service was great and the owners really know how to make a reception something to remeber. Everyone raved about the food, service and atmosphere. Couldnt have asked for anything more.

Had a meal there last year and food was very nice – superb, really. But we were rushed out the door as it seems that had a large XMAS do on for PN Hospital staff. Service was very bad. Also, we were startled to find a corkage charge of $10 per head applied for BYO bottle of wine! $20 corkage for the two of us. Will NEVER go there again. Rip off.

Our family went to The Gallery to celebrate a birthday. Experience was FANTASTIC!!!! Very extensive wine list, our meals came out without too much of a rush (scallops and lamb were beautiful!) and the maitre d’ managed to make a conversation with us which was nice. I highly recommend The Gallery on any given day!
I have eaten at The Gallery several times and always enjoyed the food service etc. Last night I thought it would be a good place to go with my husband and daughter for a birthday dinner. We were very disappointed. I chose roast pork belly, This was a glob of fat with very little meat. bowl of vegetables were over cooked and oily. We went to Bella’s for desert and wished we had eaten there!!! We won’t go back and certainly wouldn’t recommend The Gallery.

I had the eggs benedict and my husband the chicken curry. Unfortunately my eggs benedict came with frozen hash browns, floppy and fatty bacon (which I had specifically asked for crispy) and a piece of eggshell bigger than my thumb. At $17.50, I would have expected at the very least to have fresh ingredients, sans eggshell.
My husband’s curry was marginally better. However, the curry lacked any flavor and the oil was sitting on top of the sauce. His rice was stodgy and the chicken looked like it had been shredded a week before it was thrown into the sauce.
Service was friendly, but because we had already bought the voucher, no mention of a refund was made- but the barista did point out that they didn’t charge me for my eggs benedict (which of course made absolutely no difference since we had spent less than the total value of the voucher anyway).
Will not be returning, recommend you don’t either!
