The staff was delightful. We walked in at 7:30 and there were only 3 tables being served. I ordered the grouper as did my husband. It was very fishy. I couldn’t eat it. My son ordered lamb, medium rare and it cam well done. He sent it back and they brought him a new dish of lamb cooked medium rare. It was just ok. We had finished our meal and they did nothing to compensate for their mistake. We ordered pecan pie and it was also very fair. The crust was soggy and the praline ice cream was not good. I asked the server if the manager was there and she said no he left because there wasn’t enough customers there. Perhaps if he stayed he could better over see his restaurant. Very disappointing.

From the moment the staff saw us arrive it felt like we were the centre of their attention. A glass of bubbly in the courtyard/garden was a pleasant start to the evening – inside the restaruant had a lovely ambience, the food was sensational, the waitresses attentive and professional. It was nice to have the option of big comfortable couches and chairs in the foyer or library to finish the night off with a night cap. We would definitely return – being picked up from our hotel and delivered back was a nice bonus. Expensive but worth every penny.

We have eaten here twice this year, and rate it as amongst our favourite in the country. Fabulous ambience (1860′s stone coach house) with roaring fires and the amazing “wine library” private dining room. The food is faultless – we really relished the degustation menu, confit of duck my absolute fave, and so so sublime! The warmth of service was unbeatable, and we are so glad we chose it as the venue for our wedding dinner. Thanks so much, Gantley’s! Don’t change a thing!
