Gee Gee’s in Epsom serve’s International cuisine with a seasonal changing menu. Our Chef’s suggestion is, “you must try our calamari, which is very popular.” Parking is also available at night behind Gee Gee’s

When I used to live in Epsom, Gee Gee’s looked impressive from the outside; and the Inside does not fail to impress as well.
The Setting, the Environment and the Food and Service are all easily the best quality of eating I have experienced.
I love this place, and they were easily the only choice for my birthday in 2011.
I can’t fault them.
One of the things I miss about Auckland.
Although I haven’t been back up to Auckland to be able to go to Gee Gee’s since March 2011.

We dined there last week. I must admit the food was pretty good, however was not impressed by the bar at all. They had approximately 8 cocktails listed, I tried to order 3 of them but they couldn’t make them as they didn’t have all of the ingredients (the restaurant & bar was not busy). After the disappointment, I ordered a standard spirits drink and received a dirty straw in it – won’t be going back there in a hurry!

Well many times in the past we have had a lovely meal at GeeGee’s and so thinking this booked a table on Thursday last week. I dont think I can recall ever being so disappointed with a meal…such a shame! The seafood chowder was watery and had an odd aniseed flavour, not what you expect for the old fave. The venison ordered rare but came blue, and was a little cold and a bit tough. The dumplings were like little bits of hard cardboard smothered in sauce with a similar flavour to the soup. A friend had the tortillini which was overcooked and soggy and the sauce undercooked and floury. Another friend had the eye fillet which was only passable. The 4th had the lamb shanks which he thought were splendid. I must say the service was good, however they were far from busy. Overall a disappointing dining experience for the price paid. We dine out a lot and I think we will be looking for a new old haunt now.

We have been to Gee Gees many many times and have found the food to be consistently good. However this time the service, which can be a hit and miss, let it down. Waiters lent over diners to deliver and pick up plates. We were only asked once, in the whole evening, for our drinks order, until we were about to leave and then the waitress asked again – what was the point?!
When it came time to pay the bill we requested that we and a fellow diner pay half of the birthday girls dinner, only to be met with the response that this was “utter stupidity”! A fact she repeated twice more. We understand in these days of new technology it is not easy to split the bill but the sour faced woman could have put this in much better terms! Also as it turned out we were overcharged as well. A bitter end to an otherwise pleasant night.

Gee Gees has been our favourite restaurant for the past 10 years. We always taken our friends there. And I plan on having my 50th there. Never had a meal we could not rave about. Actually the meals are usually the topic of conversation as ever bite is a moment of joy for the taste buds. Never had to wait for service, even when it’s busy, as it often is. The staff are very interesting as they all seem to have a European flavour about them. 5 stars +

What a tremendous atmsophere in here on a busy night! But so many waiters they didn’t all know what to do with themselves. We had a total of 5 different waiting staff ask us if we wanted any more wine! Quite disorganised – hence only 3 stars.
But the food was really good, and probably deserves four stars. I would definitely recommend this place, and they had probably just got new staff on to cope with the Cirque du Soleil crowds that were there when we went.
