Glenfalloch – Gaelic for hidden Glen was first established in 1871. George Gray Russell purchased the 90-acre property from James Macandrew, who Macandrew Bay is named after. Presently the property has been trimmed to 30 acres and is now owned by the Otago Peninsula Trust. The gardens for many years had been listed as a Garden of Regional Significance and recently upgraded to a Garden of National Significance. The Otago Peninsula trust offer guided garden tours for your guests or they can choose to wander at their leisure too.
Diners have a choice of three restaurants at Glenfalloch. We can cater for any group large or small and has the reputation of being Dunedin’s leading and preferred private Restaurant. The location is well positioned to offer your guests a relaxed dining experience and leisurely stroll in the gardens. On request we can also provide a cooking demonstrations focusing on New Zealand cuisine and a tasting of the dish presented.
Glenfalloch Restaurants are located on Portobello Road on the Otago Peninsula. We are on the sunny side of the harbour, just 15 minutes from Dunedin’s central business district. Glenfalloch is the first restaurant on the Peninsula, perfect first stop of the day or the final stop before heading back into the central city.
