In my experience, one of the best Chinese restaurants in Auckland. Not overly expensive, and great food! The duck dish two-ways is usually good, and the black pepper steak on sizzling plate is to die for!

We have not tried the restaurant but the takeaways part is our favourite for Chinese. Not really a fan of fish and chips etc from there (too greasy) but the Chinese is fantastic. We always order Sweet & Sour Pork and Chicken & Cashew Nuts. The latter comes with rice and has heaps of great quality veges (nice and fresh and crunchy). We also LOVE their wontons. Delicious and the service is always fast and with a smile.

I would give this place Zero stars if that was an option but its not..
Had a terrible dinner there tonight.
Meat was dry, beans were definately not fresh and the flavors in other dishes were just weird.
But to top it all off the waitress gave us attitude.
Will never go again and wouldnt recommend it to anyone I know.

This is definitely my most favourite Chinese restaurant in the whole of Auckland, the fact that it has been around since the 70′s should say a lot. You know its got to be good when it is always full of big groups of Chinese people. Not only is the food absolutely sumptuous but it is cheap too! Especially if you are going in a big group and order dishes for everyone, you can end up paying $20 per person and thats including cork-age. My favourite dish is the Peking Duck, you do have to order it at least 24 hours before you go there but it is definitely worth it, especially as at other restaurants it can be up to $40 more expensive. Every dish I have tried I have liked, of course some more than others. Some of my personal favourites are the black bean pork (the marinated pork is so tender and moist its melt in your mouth), Pork spare ribs Peking style (delicious, almost like little pieces of pork in a delicious coating with a beautiful sauce), Lemon chicken (Yum!), Sizzling beef, Chicken and straw mushrooms. I absolutely love golden horse and almost feel like I am cheating when I look at another Chinese restaurant.
