Really enjoyed the new lunch menu – so cheap and tasty! A great alternative to a dinner date. The decor is stunning too. The place has a lovely ambience. The service was super quick when we went. Very impressed! Overall a great dining experience and a Thai gem in Kumeu.

Had not been in for dinner for a while and have eaten here tons so although not expecting 5 star we did expect the same service and quality of food we have come to take for granted over the last 7 years. We got that wrong. the menu taks about a nice calamari entree – cant remember the exact wording – in any case a handfull of crumbed squid rings was along way off. My duck main was really yummy except is was very mild – like no heat but the menu said medium – previous experience has taught medium is still pretty hot and dont eat the whole chillis. I think one of the staff has taken the place over and toned it down? Worst thing was that our table was sticky which is pretty yuck. i watched a member of staff wipe the mats and table next door. 1. They dont wash the mats just wipe them half assed I also checked the table after and it was stuicky as well. I told the manager about our experience but there was only a half ass apology and I got that distinct impression that as she was nodding yes she was thinking yea what ever. There is another thai place in huapai so im going to go there from now on.

Went there on Saturday with my family, the place was very busy but the waiting staff was at the door to greet us. We were seated very quickly and given water. We ordered the banquet for 4, the starter came out within 5 minutes, it was piping hot and scrumptious! the mains were amazing, they have this egg net with prawns and pork, it was divine. The night was enjoyable and the waiting staff were attentive but not intrusive, it was a very pleasant and enjoyable evening.

Went there for a birthday dinner, food was 10/10, great. As for the lady in purple who waited our table, she was very inpersonal, rude and we just felt she wanted us to leave. Although we’d taken our own beverages we felt as though we were not welcome as we even had to ask for water!
We would certainly recommend this restaurant for food but if you take your own alochol you will not get personal service as they certainly made you aware that they are not making money out of the beverage side of their business. We also certainly did not appreciate being watched in a bored manner while we finished our meal.

Visited restaurant tonight after 18 months. 3 hours for 3 courses. Food ok but service very poor. I had to ask for table to be cleared as nobody seemed bothered.
Not what I remembered from Golden Silk and very disappointing.

I went there last night after reading the fantastic reviews. I was very disappointed. I had the prawn,pork and sweetcorn baskets. They were filled with frozen peas and carrots and very Little of the filling advertised on the menu. The twice cooked Duck sounded fantastic on the menu. The sauce was very bitter and the duck was dry. The service was very poor, the tables were not cleared away and we sat for ages with dirty plates on the table waiting for the waitress to take our order. The only saving grace was the banana split, I decided not to try anything unknown as the starter and mains had been so poor. I did tell the waitress on the way out when asked “did I enjoy my meal” that it wasn’t the best I had had but just got brushed off. No I wont be going there again even though it is just around the corner.

Decided on this restaurant after reading these reviews.

The evening was very enjoyable. Waitresses were friendly and attentive. Food was served promptly and it tasted divine. (They even offered to put the leftovers in a doggy bag)

Great having plenty of parking right outside, would also be suitable for children. I’d feel comfortable taking my preschoolers.

The decor was warm and cosy with lots of interesting art to look at whilst you enjoy your meal.

Look forward to my next visit.

Thai from Golden Silk. All we can say after our meal is we will definitely be back. My juicy big prawns is so yummy!!!

This is a fabulous restaurant, unlike any other Thai restaurant I have been to. From the moment you walk in you feel welcomed and the ambiance is impressive. A bit noisy but in an exciting kind of way. The service is prompt and efficient and the food is out of this world. For an entree I tried their spring roll, a test of a good Thai restaurant is their spring roll, then I had the twice cooked duck, mama mia it was delicious. I have been back 3 times since then. The price is very reasonable, did I mention the portion (generous)

We were invited to go there with some friends that dine there as frequently as they can. And we enjoyed our experience so much that we now go there as often as we can and we live out in East Auck. So that must give you an idea of how fabulous it is.
