The Good Home New Plymouth is the freshest hospitality
precinct to hit the Taranaki region and once experienced it will soon become your second home.
Over the past decades we have renovated our original villa to create the ultimate “home away from home” experience which boasts 7 di erent unique spaces. From the existing Dining Room and Living Room we have introduced a Lounge area to unwind after a hard day’s work, built in a Sports Den to watch the game in private, extended the Outdoor Yard to relish in the sun, developed a Kitchen Corner to grab a cofee and read the newspaper and most importantly we have made the Kitchen the hub of our house.
Our Good Home family of sta look forward to welcoming you into our home as if you were one of our own!

No where did it mention the salad was going to be Super hot (thai hot as one of the staff said after I complained) – awful and disappointing. As for the steak burger, the 2 pieces of steak were gravy steak and was generally average. To boot the coffee was awful.
When we complained the guy just made excuses and in no way offered a solution.
Never again.

We ate the chips and couple of deep fried prawns and waited for the manager who looked over several times but no she sent out the young waitress who sounded like she was very new to collect our plates with leftover food on. We did tell her we were not impressed & while she apologised it wasn’t her fault that the good home has lost the chance to recover our custom. Won’t be back for food for sure!! Too bad cos the place looks good. Suggest you spend more on staff who know how to cook.

My wife had a really nice stone grilled eye fillet that she said was one of the best she has ever had.
Meals came out quickly so no problems there.
Plenty of room there and many different outlooks.
Overall it was a great meal for a pub meal and we will definitely return.
Update: Took an out of town friend here as the steak we had last time was so good. This time we were really disappointed with all of the food we received. The sirloin steak was pathetically small and the lumps of broccoli and potatoes that came with it weren’t very appetising. The mushroom and tomato salad that I had last time had been removed from the new menu and there wasn’t really anything else I could eat. Ordered fries and a side salad that was very uninspiring and garlic bread was very average.Prices weren’t cheap so was expecting a lot more. We wont be back.
