Clean, tidy facility and friendly service but less than average food.

The description of the “German Pizza” sounded great…cooked in a very hot oven, nice and crispy, ready in under 5 minutes.

I think the oven might have been turned off when we arrived (Saturday lunchtime) as whilst we were almost the only people in the place we had to wait over 20 minutes, the ingredients on the top looked wilted and meted and the bread base was only just cooked, almost still raw.

There were other food items sitting in a heated buffet but they were uncovered and looked as though they may have been there a while….perhaps days…very soggy and unappetising.

Highly not recommended.

Looking for a good coffee after dinner in Nelson, stumbled upon this cafe. Whilst enjoying a (really good) flat white, read through the menu and decided to go back the next day for brunch.

The flamecakes (German style pizza) are fantastic. A super thin crispy base with sour cream and creme fraiche sauce, topped with your choices – we tried the Italian (tomato and salami) and the Greek (spinach and feta), and highly recommend both. Also had the waffles, very nice.

Owner extremely friendly, clean and simple environment, reasonably priced.

Have been here 3 or 4 times now – always good food & very friendly owners. Would recommend.

Decoration a bit stark so not a huge amount of atmosphere but very clean. That’s why I didn’t give 5 stars.

We went there for lunch buffet today at this new traditional European food. The food were really fabulous with different kind of meals to choose plus homemade tomato soup as compliment. All only for $10, really very good value in town plus the quality of the meals is superb. We will come back again as they change their buffet menu every week. Can’t wait to try different meal!!
