I found good world to be quite a depressing experience, the quality was low, the service rude throughout and the cleanliness very low. There was very little to choose from and what we did get offered was tasteless and over cooked.

We will not be returning, would rather pay a higher price for an enjoyable and tasty experience.

Excellent value and selection of mains and desserts in their evening buffet for $20. Had a giggle though! The 7 yr old grand daughter found one of those apple labels stuck to a cube of apple in a dessert and said to the waitress “Excuse me, you guys have left a sticker on the apple”

This is an awesome restaurant. The service is great – the food is fresh and the wait is not that long. We have made this our family gathering place for all special events. My family is 14 strong. the prices are affordable and the place is kid friendly. A++++

We went for yum char on a Saturday 12:15pm.

The food wasn’t too impressive (and I’ve been to many yum char places). The same dishes kept circulating around, and it was about 45 minutes before we actually got some steamed dumplings. Steamed dumplings should be the main dish at yum char!

The service wasn’t so great either. Took ages for our teapot to be refilled. One waitress kept assuming we were full and instead of showing us what she had she would exclaim “Want more!?”. We had to ask her what there was and still she wouldn’t show us – she just quickly named them (“body parts” is not so descriptive I thought).

The place is grimy. Had to wipe my chopsticks and crockery before using them as they were visibly dirty.

I’d put this place at the bottom of my preferred yum char restaurants.

I’ve been to Good World several times over the last eight years. Yes, it may be value for money but when quality drops you’re basically paying for a lacklustre meal, including dessert. If you’re in it for the low cost then put up with water spots on cutlery, chipped crockery, food stained table clothes, cellotaped glass-top tables, and mediocre service and food. The upside for me – the crispy orange beef, and the stuffed mushrooms!

Was enjoying the meal there until a few somewhat dodgy things occurred.

I could be wrong, but the washing of chopsticks consisted of a 30 second dipping in some liquid then picking off anything that might be left on them. The water they were being dipped in, was then poured into another bucket that consisted of knives & forks etc. Even if there was some other additional washing step that I couldnt see, it still looked dodgy. My recommendation bring your own utensils.

We were given Ginger Beer that was past it use by date, witnessed one couple being directed to make their own instant coffee and another woman get burned when a staff member leaped in to take over making tea from her.

Disappointing because the food was really good, but this has put me off ever eating the food again.

Monday – Friday 12pm- 2.30pm is Buffet “All you can eat Lunch” for $12.00 person.

The Buffet dishes are ‘Orange Beef’ – ‘Chicken Stir Fry’ – ‘Won Tongs’ – ‘Fish & Chips’ – ‘Fried Mushrooms’, ‘Spring Rolls’ – ‘Fried Rice’ – ‘Fried Noodles’ – ‘Sweet & Sour Pork’ – ‘Egg Foo Yung’ – ‘Chicken & Corn Soup’ – ‘Hot Chicken’

Side Dishes – A Variety of Salads

And Dessert normally consists of ‘Home Made Pavalova’ – ‘Fruit Salad’ – ‘Jelly’

A very good value for money. And also is a good place to dine in.

The quality of the food is simply beautiful & would probably be the best Chinese Food served Wellington.

When your in Lower Hutt, grab a few mates and pop in for a Lunch you wont regret.

I guess the only thing thats a downer is the Drink Prices, but arent all Restaurants like that?

Havent Tried the Yum Char but will post if I do.
