GPK is our longterm favourite restaruant, the eye fillet main is premium quality steak and very tasty and priced $5 below similar elsewhere. Always good for fast, tasty food that is always consistent in its quality. I am very surprised at some of the comments belwo as it is not our experiance and I have eaten at GPKS probaly 50 times (used to eat out alot)

Once we were seated we ordered drinks and entrées. Drinks did not come and after 1hr, seeing orders taken out to tables that arrived after us, and a complaint, we got our entrées (none of which required cooking) and our long awaited drinks.
We then waited a further 1hr for our main meal.
Upon complaining, the arrogant manager told us they were really busy, and did not offer an apology.
The food was nice, but the wait and management was appalling. If it wasn’t for one terrific and sympathizing waitress, the night would have been a disaster! Neither I nor the party of 6 I was with will ever be returning.

However what does annoy me is their refusal to take the entertainment card, Sorry it was amistake and we should not be in the book. Well then put a sign up somewhere or tell people before they sit down and not after they have had the card accepted by the waiter. This could have been dealt with better. No problem with the manager – the owner apparently refuses to do so,
Well you will loose some business then.

but as this was closer so we went here for lunch with a friend. i ordered a salad which when it came out we both commented no where near as good as Takapuna GPK half the amount of chicken and just an all round average meal ,
but we were not bothered as we were enjoying our lunch out together.
After eating majority of my lunch i looked at the fork full i was about to put in my mouth and there was a dead cockroach !!!!!! on my fork covered in the dressing, i immediately spat the other food out in my mouth and went to get the waiter as i was disgusted, he response to me was, it must have flown in while i was eating lunch and i said no way as it was dead and clearly in the dressing. i was disgusted and they just did not care at all .
The seemed very unhelpfully in making this situation better and we had to tell them to take the food off our bill, we then finished out bottle of wine and during this time the waiter came out to us and said i thought you were hard to deal with, you should see what i am dealing with inside?? i felt this was a stupid thing to say.as why mock other unhappy diners to us who have complained also! just made your service look worse as we realised we wern’t the only people complaining
We finally finished our drinks and went to the bar to pay where i am assuming it was the manager who said to me, are you still here aren’t you the salad girl? and joked about it, We got no sorry for that etc etc just made jokes, i was pissed off that they were clearly mocking me for complaining, then add insult to injury they then over charged me and didn’t even take all the food off our bill.
All in all very disappointing service and clearly some one needs to know how to handle complaints in that restaurant better and know that mocking your unhappy diners is not the way to fix an already bad situation. Also you clearly need to clean your kitchen a lot better or be more careful when washing your food before serving to dinners.
I would not recomend got to GPK Takapuna instead !!!!!!
