We dined on Mothers Day. I think they were short staffed and we were forgotten. the manager was apoligetic and said he has just taken over. The meals were ok, the stir fry a generous portion but I would not describe as fine dining. We went as it was in our entertainment book under this heading.

2012 – Since my last visit here in 2010&2011 GPO has gone so far down hill it is unbelievable.
Cheap and nasty photocopied menus on a single page like you used to get a Pizza Hut (but at least their were printed in colour).
Basic Bar menu with no fine dining food listed but it was cooked OK and that was the only satisfactory part about our visit.
Don’t know what the new owners (Assumption) are doing but they clearly do not know how to run restaurant.

And please insure your serving staff have a shower before work and at least try and dress nicely/tidily..

2010 – I have to say the food here has improved over my last visit and I am disappointed to only give them three stars.
Menu was quite small with not many options but the food was beautifully cooked esp the steak so compliments to the chef.
What really let GPO down was the waiting staff, we had to ask for wine and drinks, food was delivered without cutlery and I am sure our waitress was more interested in drooling over another customer that caught her eye than serving.

Last Wednesday we dined at GPO. We haven’t been since the change of ownership last year, but would recommend the restaurant to all.
The menu was not as extensive, but covered all bases. The meals themselves were generous and well cooked.
The front of house staff gave excellent service.
