Four of us came for dinner and the restaurant only had a few patrons.
As soon as we walked in the door the waitresses were absolutely lovely and the their friendliness never waned throughout our visit.
Top notch service. The food was divine.
We ordered a set menu for four and it was delicious.
Cannot say a bad word about this place. Will be back in a heartbeat next time Im up in Whangarei.

I have been going to this restaurant for a few years now, & it is just my favourite place to go, the staff are so lovely & they go way out of their way to give you what you want even if they’re run off their feet which they mostly always are as they’re just the best, the fried rice is beautiful & so is the satay chicken entree! Nice and friendly staff compared to the other Thai place in town. fewer people than the competition so its more personal. the food is lovely. I’m in love with their sticky rice banana pudding!!!!!!

Why do Restaurants take bookings when they cannot cope.
This was a lousy evening we had to wait 2 1/2 hours for our main. My birthday was ruined. I even had to phone the Restaurant to get the attention of the waitress. It was embarrassing.

A pleasant enough place to eat. Friendly, quick service and very tasty authentic food. When it says spicy it means spicy and that’s just the way I like it!

The Grand Thai Restaurant is a fantastic place to eat. They have a great variety of dishes just like you would get in Thailand and I have been to Thailand twice.

The best Thai food in whangarei! Their menu is more exotic than Primarn, with 6 different dishes around duck, several for fishes and seafoods and lots of vege and meat dishes. Their service is perfect the girls are polite and gracious and you dont fel rushed to eat your food and leave . You can wander in plus you can have takeaway where Primarn is busy, reservation is usually required and you do feel pressured to free up a tabe as soon as possible 5 stars!

A nice place with reasonably good food and we did enjoy our couple of visits.
Restaurant itself is a bit of a morbid place due to the old decor so we found this tended to spoil our dining experience.
They did a good job but we have experienced better elsewhere.

We have eaten at this restaurant several times now, and have always experienced delicious thai food with good fresh veges and great service. Took my parents there after xmas and they raved about the place. Awesome food at a great price. Take no notice of the exterior this restaurant is a gem.

The restauarant has a relaxing ambience and the staff are always friendly and polite.

I have also taken friends and colleagues to the Grand Thai and they too have enjoyed the dining experience.

The food is full of flavour, is always well presented and tastes fresh each time.

I highly recommend the Grand Thai restaurant whether it be for lunch or dinner.
