Grano’s food is just delicious, and they are extremely accommodating to any requests you might have. Occasionally they don’t have a vegetarian option on the menu, but it is never a problem – the manager seems to enjoy giving me a run down of all the off-menu possibilities. I’ve had better coffee, but the food keeps me coming back (even though it is quite pricey). Lovely decor, too, and say hi to Bruno the dog!

I’ve been to Grano a couple of times, since reading http://aucklandfoodblo…

I really love it. The music is great, as is the service and food. I’ve been for both lunch and on a small plates night, and found the food innovative and delicious. Being a keen cook, I asked the chef if he would be good enough to share his recipe for the delicious lemon and almond biscotti which he gladly did.

Cute decor and dog in semi convenient location (sadly lacking in parking) i got a $40 parking ticket but that wasnt exactly their fault was it :)
Had a nice cup of coffee accompanied by an extemely poorly presented, obviously rushed in making or not made on site example of very average cafe fair. This was my second visit to Grano ( my first with a friend on a lunch date went exceptionally well apart from a remarkably over zealous/ stressed out and to be honest stressful middle aged manager who seemed more worried about where we sat than whether our food came out on time and not burnt. Basically everything that hit the table was either cold or over cooked in one way or another. The saving grace of the day was the adorable puppy outside. These people obviously mean well but I cant see the place surviving. If you are in the area I would strongly suggest heading to cafe 23 around the corner – its a tad more expensive but totally worth the expense. Failing that Poppies across the road is lovely for coffee and treats :)

The place looks amazing and the food was just as great. My partner and I had breakfast here we ordered the same meal roasted vine tomatoes and avocado on gluten free toast and they made such a simple dish delicious and it was substantial and so reasonably priced. The manager was lovely and very welcoming. Great place and we’ll be definitely back again.
