Had my first visit to Graze last night. Actually had been there twice before without a booking and couldn’t get a table so it pays to book. Anyway, I found out why this restaurant has been so popular; The menu and prices are pitched just right for the venue and most budgets, the food was much better than comparable Upper Hutt venues, and the service was excellent. My two guests chose from the menu and I tried the buffet – all good meals. Recommended as one of the best in Upper Hutt for the prices. Rated excellent as pub/casual dining experience.

I Love going to The Graze and are going tonight for my birthday. I have family who come all the way from Wainuiomata just to go there. I love the chicken snitzel.. and the buffet. They order the salmon. I have heard comments when there about the good food and most love the children’s room. Keep up the good work.

First time to Graze Restaurant and went to the Wed 2 for 1, had the chicken and the pork dishes. Chicken was well cooked not dry and lots of healthy veg. Good honest tasty food at a good price. Good customer service also we will be back.

I was one of a group of eight who dined at the Graze last night [8th August]. The majority of the group ordered the steak and they were all happy with the requests for how it was cooked, it looked great when it arrived. Two ordered the lamb shanks and they were both pleased with that.
I ordered the roast pork which was accompanied by carrots, potatoes, red cabbage and crackling.
The meals did take over an hour to arrive and we were informed by the wait staff 5 minutes before the meals arrived that they would be there soon.
My meal was disappointing, the pork was alright but had no gravy so after awhile the meat seemed dry, the potatoes and cabbage were nice but the carrots were just cooked but was hungry by then so ate them.
My complaint was the CRACKLING it was awful, I have cooked enough pork to know that good crackling is scored before being cooked and then sprinkled with good rock salt.
This was not crisp but chewy and you could not even break it in half, pale in colour and half cooked if you were lucky.
All in all as it was a 2 for 1 night maybe the time was not put into it and they were busy but it was very disappointing.
Would I go again, yes it is a cheap night but would I have roast pork again? Never!!

Dined at this restauraunt with hubbie and two children. Were a little disapointed were not fully informed about the specials of the night didnt realise they had other burgers on specail until after we ordered and over heard the table next to us being told about the menu of the day. Was also dissapointed with the kids menu as it stated comes with vegies on the side however when they were brought out contained no vegies at all would have loved to see a healthy kids and adults version of the menu. I believer there is soon to be a new menu hopefully some of these options will be included.

On Monday 18th June I had lunch at this establishment with two friends, one having a birthday.
The service was merely adequate, drinks and food were okay for friends – thank God. For myself I ordered Corn Fritters which were a total disappointment. To disguise the bland taste they were covered with a questionable sauce.
Where these fritters failed was that the corn appeared to have been creamed tin corn.
On being asked if I enjoyed them I replied- Good is not the word for them. I think it was taken as a compliment.
There was also poor heating where we were seated.
Could definitely do better.

We went there for my mothers 90Th we choose a smorgasbord.
The food we had was very nice, the staff were all very good and helpful. We will certainly be back for other meals.

We went here a couple of weeks ago, me & my partner and her kids. I ordered the steak & she had the chicken snitzel, which was a bit dry. My steak came it was nice but the kids burger was under cooked we had waited at least 40 mins for and mains after our garlic bread service not that great. The meal wasnt that big either as they advertised & wasnt much salad with it. We wouldn’t go there again.

This is the first review I have written but I just have to share the love about this place. We have 5 kids and meals out can be a real hassle with them but this place is just perfect. The meals are great. The 11 year old adores the ribs which the other burger eating kids demand to share and today all 5 had the trifecta of icecream – pastry and icecream – sensational. Ive had the salmon and the calamari here and both are excellent. The other reason this place cant be bettered for big family dining in my book is the no adults room. It’s sound proof and filled with stuff to entertain 1-13 year olds which means peace for the adults – awesome!

We have been here a few times now as we live in Trentham too! It is a great, family friendly, fantastic restaurant! Highly recommended this to all our friends and family. I do miss the 2 for 1 Wednesday nights that they offered in 2011 though – they were fab and the most common night we went there

I recently returned to Graze for dinner with a large group. I was very happy with the whole experience. The staff were friendly and helpful and easily coped with the large group. I ordered the vegetarian option (spinach and fetta filo) which was lovely, and the salad and veges were great too. I would happy visit again soon.

Went here probably 6 months ago (service may be different now) Staff were fantastic, service from them was awesome. Very polite, attentitive. However the food was awful. May go back but only due to so many nice reviews on here.

WOW went to Graze last night, OMG such a improvement, staff were friendly and attentive, food was outstanding, went with my partner who is a chief and he was amazed with the quality and flavours for the cost, we had two courses each and a beverage and cost $80….. YAY for Upper Hutt, somewhere you can go as a family or couple and enjoy the ambiance… Can’t wait to take family and friends along, great work to the new owners…

Really lovely good solid service i ordered the 1kg ribs OMG huge meal and only $29 value for money and i couldn’t finish it big eaters dine here!!! well done Graze 10/10.

we had dinner with the kids tonight and were impressed with the quality of the buffet – the beef stroganoff and veggies in particular were fabulous, and so well priced! $20 a head for us and only $2 for our toddlers, and OMG that included a yummy dessert! And to top it off the service was first class – we will def be back there. A bonus was the kids room our kids had so much fun it made our dinner relaxing, well done Graze

We planned a surprise birthday at the Graze for a family member. We hired the private room and were very impressed. I loved the room and the atmosphere. The set out of the room and tables were lovely. The staff were very friendly and helpful. We had the Buffet and I’m really sorry but it was disappointing. The roast pork was cold, the roast pumpkin was over cooked and the roast potatoes were either off or left over from the night before. And the dessert was ok. I know it sounds hush but I work for a catering company and there is no way we would have even gotten away with this food. We ate the salads (which were very nice) and picked something up on the way home

We went to Graze for Sunday lunch with our 5 yr old and 18 mth old a few weeks ago. Suffice to say we stayed for hours because not only was the food great (yummy sticky ribs and calamari)but the kids room was a massive hit. The 5 yr old had his face painted, tried on every costume from the dress up box but had a blast bouncing around the No Adults room. He was also chuffed the staff made such a fuss of him and he loved the free dessert from the robot ice cream machine.The 18 mth old delighted in a new bunch of toys and watching all the kids have such fun. She was also pleased with the kids TV. A very clever set up for parents and kids – the littlies are kept amused while the parents can supervise from a calm and well catered distance. Definitely a destination, not just a drive through option. Well done for finally getting the family dining experience right! Will be out again very soon.

I went to graze with the family wednesday night. its 2 for 1 night. AMAZING. the food was great and the staff were all so friendly and helpful. we will all be going back there! 2 for one or not! there arent that many places in UH where u can take ur kids and they have their own little kids only area. FANTASTIC!

Nice atmosphere and it is excellent they provide a kids play room. Our waitress was really nice and friendly. Great they open on a Monday night but I am sorry I did not enjoy my meal. I was also a little surprised when I got a piece of raw garlic in my garlic bread.

My husband and I went there last night for the first time. The staff were very friendly. The food was delicious. I chose the crispy skin salmon, absolutely devine. Dessert was ok, just a little dry, but overall was a great experience and we will definitely be going back.

I went to Graze for lunch on a Sunday. It was Father’s day so the restaurant was quite busy but despite that the staff were very attentive and efficient. I was with a big group of people and ordered the chicken burger – all of the food arrived really quickly and at the same time. The chicken burger was amazing and a really good size – I couln’t finish at all.
I was really impressed with how friendly the staff were too! Would absolutely go back.

Where else can you take 3 kids aged 2, 4 and 9 for a family birthday supper and know you are going to have a relaxed evening and great food that suits everyone without breaking the bank? Graze of course! The fish and chips were super tasty, my birthday boy was delighted with his balloon octopus and box of goodies and the two littlies played happily in the ‘no adults’ playroom drawing on the chalk boards and bouncing off the bean bags while my husband and I enjoyed some rare moments of quiet togetherness while our food was being prepared….Thankyou Graze.

Awesome place. Friendly staff and a great menu. I am a coeliac and the staff bent over backwards to accommodate my meal choices. Speedy service, delicious hot food and a nice environment. We took our baby with us and were given a great little high chair that attached to the table so he could join in too. Will definitely be back and will recommend to others.

Initially we were happy as it does have a nice feel and the staff were friendly and informative. However the food was average but the desserts were appalling, so bad my wife and I did not continue eating them. After telling the waitress we we just got a silly reply from her and still had to pay for them.

We went there for a dinner with friends a month ago and it was fantastic! There were too many yummy choices on the menu – it was hard to decide, but in the end I went for the special which was a crumbed chicken burger with aioli – just delicious! All the staff were really friendly, and the atmosphere was awesome. I would totally recommend Graze to anyone after a really yummy meal and a great time.

Had dinner here on Saturday 29.7.2011 with my husband had a really wonderful experience at graze cant stop raving about them to all our friends. Wanted to try some where different and heard about them on the radio so decided to give them ago. WOW we are so lucky to have a really great restaurant in Upper Hutt. It is really warm and inviting with an amazing menu. The wines and beers are fabulous and the menu is YUM MO we both had the steak and it was the best rump steak that we have ever tasted. The service was fabulous awesome job will definitely be back two thumbs up team.

We dined at ‘Graze’ with friends on Saturday and had a great evening. The resturant was buzzing and all staff were extremely friendly. It has a really nice family atmosphere and a very good menu with something for everyone. I had the crispy skin salmon and it was delicious. Highly recommended.
