We like their pies, tried a few of their award winning pies and it was pretty good. Coffee’s alright but i guess that depends on who’s working it that day.

I read about Greenland bakery’s award winning pie through the Herald article, especially about their famous vegetarian pie. Keen to try out a good wholesome pie, I went there early in the morning as they just opened.
My wife got the sausage roll and I got the vegetarian pie to take away and off we go.
The Vege Pie $4.00
- the puff pastry was great, very soft and very crispy yet crumbly. In fact I felt it was a little too soft as the top portion of the pie wasn’t able to hold the contents of the pie together well as I was eating through it halfway.
- the filling was made up of carrots, potato, and some other veges. The stew/sauce that it was cooked in was rather pleasant, it tastes like it was cooked with vege/chicken stock. It wasn’t very salty but had a clean taste to it. I would have preferred something a little more flavor and seasoning like adding in cheese etc.
The Sausage roll $4.00
- puff pastry was also good, soft and crispy on the outside.
- the sausage had more taste and according to my wife the sausage roll was much better than the ones you buy from Wild Bean Cafe.
Overall a little disappointed, I wasn’t that wow-ed with the pie but if I was hungry and I wanted a pie and I was near the bakery, I wouldn’t mind buying it.
The staff were friendly and with payment they don’t take credit card, only EFTPOS and cash.

Fresh and good quality although expensive. Coffee could improve and so could the service at the front – their worcestshire sauce bottle was empty and they said they had no more – come on! Who runs out of sauce for their award winning pies.
They are busy and as such the hot food was well and truly cold by the time it was paid for.
There are better cafes in Botany!

Awesome Burton’s coffee, nice pies too. I’ve found a new coffee place in botany.
I have had too many bad coffees lately and these guys, although a little shy, make the creamiest strong (double shot) coffee.

The pies are great, just a tad overpriced. Coffees are consistently good just the staff are a bit dull.

Extremely over priced.
$5 dollars for a small pie??
not that the pies are bad, i understand that green lands have won a few pie awards, but i dont think that is enough to put your prices through the roof
its a bit of a joke
