we are in tauranga regularly and usually eat out while we are there, I visited greers about a week ago with my family, staff were very rude and made us feel as if customers was he last thing they wanted, ordered the fish and chips which wasnt very nice, my husband had the steak which he also didnt enjoy and found it quite dry and overcooked. will definatly not return, pity the customer service wasnt any good or we may have possibly returned! very dissapointed as i have heard good things.

Fantastic food, atmosphere and service. Shane and Jodie are awesome and so helpful. They treat our kids like they are just as important as any adult diner and bend over backwards to keep everyone happy.
We often dine at Greers and recently decided to dine at a cafe around the corner to check out the competition. Well guys, there is no competition so keep up the great service and food and you will be sweet.
I have read a negative review about Greers and find it hard to believe as we have always thoroughly enjoyed our experiences there. You don’t need patrons like that anyway….

My daughter, wife and I really enjoyed our meal at the Te Puna Quarry about a month ago, so last night we fancied it again, but being Friday evening its a longish drive from Welcome Bay, something I couldn’t be bothered with at the end of the week, so we opted to try Greers instead.
Unfortunately we did not enjoy the experience, the steak only came on a bed of something fancy, as with most things, so I opted for the Beer Battered Fish and Chips with their “special” tartare sauce. The sauce tasted like Pams tartare watered down, very runny and tasteless. I was also not full after my meal. The supposed kids menu consisted of 3 mediocre items, so my daughter got the fish and chips, which was small and also not filling.
My wife was reasonably happy with her Lamb shank but was disappointed that it only came on a bed of potatoe, no roast or boiled veg included, and the meat was NOT falling off the bone as you would expect with shanks.
Given my last visit to The Quarry was only $76 incl 1 round and we were completely satisfied, and Greers was $69 incl one round of drinks and we were not satisifed, I will not visit there again. When I spend $20 on my main and $24.5 on my wifes main, in a pub, I expect to be full, not to go home and have an additional munch on something.
Whatever happened to basic pub food and reasonable prices? All this poncy food makes it too complicated and expensive, particularly when all you want is steak and chips.
Whilst the staff were friendly, the food really was disappointing and I will not be eating there again.

Absolutely fantastic!!
The atmosphere of a very tasteful pub with a menu and wine list to rival any restaurant.
Absoutely top notch service as well.
If you get the chance, get along to the quiz night, too…Loads of fun!
I’m just gutted it’s not in Wellington.
