Great place – I visit as often as I can and have been popping in every so often for lunch, early morning muffins and coffees for years. Consistently good service, great food, delicious coffee and reasonably priced. Perfect place for a relaxed lunch/brunch with friends. I am totally comfortable taking my toddler along as I know the staff are always friendly and kind. Worth a visit.

Went here to experience something a little different in Tauranga. Pretty cool hip place to go with a lovely menu. Will definetly go back again. Had the museli which was lovely and the coffee pretty good !!!
Cool place to go. Nice coffee’s. Fantastic environment. Thanks
Great coffee, good food and relaxed vibe. Long wait but the place is popular for a reason. Shame the wait staff are entirely young, attractive females – a cheesy tactic when you offer a good product!
Has become our go-to place. Great food, generous servings and a really different atmosphere. Always busy, that speaks for itself

My dining experience was ruined here, by a very rude girl who makes coffee here. Bought the wrong coffees to our table, and when she was told she had made a mistake she stormed off. Then came back with our order, our coffees were slammed on the table. No apology. Nothing. We wont be back.

Go here. It is great. Sweets to die for. Fast, hot coffee. And an array of seating. Altogether giving you that offshore holiday cafe feel. Well worth your time.

I agree, great service. The coffee is amazing. And the coffee cards are great. I have not had a bad exp with the coffee and i love knowing that i would be impressed every time as this is what we pay for. Very Consistent. Food is great too.. and also the muffins. Highly recommend.
Keep up the good work.
Since this cafe changed its name to Grindz , under new ownership, it has well and truly stepped up a couple of notches. It has become quite simply one of the best cafes in Tauranga ( I should know , as have tried them all ).The only problem is its almost too popular !! Can get very busy.
The food is fresh, tasty and well presented. Good coffee. CHILD FRIENDLY !!!! Love the staff here too. Would have no hesitation in bringing my coffee discerning Wellington friends here.

As a regular at Grindz cafe, I’m driven to write a review and say how wonderful they are. Ive being eating and drinking coffee at grindz for about 2yrs and there food and drinks are constantly of high standards.. The owners and staff are very friendly and polite and once they get to no you even become like friends..I was so delighted for them on finding out they won cafe of the year in the bay 2008 and feel its a well deserved honour for them. Grindz caters for a wide array of customers, from mums and kids to business men and women that want to drink the finest coffee.
This is a cafe that is always very busy, and the staff work so hard, if you only sit for half hour and watch people would realize the extreme go forward these staff members must have and the pressure of keeping this amazing cafe running as well as it does.

Was meeting a friend and her toddler there for coffee (as told they were child friendly and had a toy room), but found the cafe anything BUT child-friendly. For starters the toy room is up a flight of very awkward stairs – and I had to leave my double-pram downstairs while I transported my 2 yr old and 11 mth old, separately, up the stairs to the table my friend was sitting at. A very rude employee threatened to move my pram (which is not even in the way of anyone) – as I explained to her I was trying to get my children upstairs – no staff member even asked to help me out. Later the same employee royally told me off as my 2 yr old had taken a toy pram out of the toy room – with no chance to explain – and I was trying to reason with my 2 yr old & tell her that she needed to take it back to the room – but she is just learning the consequences of “no”. I thought the employee could have been a bit more understanding! Some people should evaluate whether they want to be in the customer service industry -if they can’t even be civil to customers. I don’t think I will return to this cafe again – especially with my friends who also have children.

What a fabulous little cafe. I love this place and visit every time I come to Tauranga from Auckland. The coffee is some of the best I’ve ever tasted and all the food looks so great its really hard to choose what to eat. There’s even a proper play area for the kids with toys and dress-ups.
