We had a meal here in January 2012. Disappointed only with the lack of choice for a vegetarian. Despite having a chef there was no choice and I had to pay $20 for a buffet plate of peas and carrots, pumpkin, and roast potato’s. My partner had venison and a plate of vegetables for $28. Seems a little out of proportion. The staff were very pleasant but not at all flexible when it came to vegetarian choice. Otherwise the food was good but choice in Haast is somewhat limited and when I asked if there was somewhere else to eat with more choice for a vegetarian they were happy to suggest somewhere else a few km down the road rather than be accomadating themselves.
