Hennessy’s Irish Bar is one of New Zealand’s favourite Irish bars, right in the heart of Rotorua.

Beautifully designed in truly Irish tradition with spacious booths and hidden-away private tables. Seating can cater for small or larger groups. We are also proud to offer a private function room of yester-year charm that is popular with business, corporate and tour groups.

The menu features a range of hearty pub favourites, including traditional fare like steamed mussels, lamb shanks and bangers and mash, supported by burgers, sandwiches and fresh salads and many more dishes in our extensive menu. We are famous for our delicious seafood chowder. There is a children’s menu; all items under $10. And to complete, we offer a delicious dessert menu including Bailey’s Irish cheesecake and Granny Malone’s Bread and Butter pudding. All desserts are made fresh on site.

Our team at Hennessy’s work hard to ensure you get both an enjoyable dining experience and the perfect pint every time you walk through the door. We have received the prestigious BEER MASTERS AWARD for each of the ten years we have been operating; an award that recognises excellence in presentation of our tap beers and service.

We have live Irish music every Thursday night and on some weekends. We run a fun quiz every Sunday night, register from 7, no charge and prizes to be won. And last, but not least, we have many large TV screens to show live and replays of international and national sports including our beloved All Blacks, European rugby, English premiership football.
