i had the best meal at hotel d’urville, i cant have gluten or dairy and when i booked in advance i told them this. usually i will turn up and will be given 1 or 2 options, but i had numerous. the wait staff were fantastic and understanding. my partners meal was amazing too, and it wasn’t as expensive as we thought it would be (bonus) all in all, i cant say enough how beautiful the food was and I’ve continued to recommend to others!

If we’re even in Marlborough again we will definitely be returning. The service was friendly yet unobtrusive, the timing of the courses perfect and the food itself absolutely exquisite. It was one of the best meals I’ve had in a long long time.
Our only one real gripe came at the beginning. Despite booking reasonably far in advance we were seated at the “dud” table. In this case it resides right in the restaurant entrance facing directly into the hotel’s brightly lit reception area a few meters away and the door between the two was kept open. So not only were we in the middle of all the incoming and outgoing restaurant traffic, but also distracted by the comings and goings in the reception area. If you’re a couple dining there, I would suggest requesting that you aren’t seated at this table as the constant disturbances detract from an otherwise wonderful experience.
Highly recommended.
