Simply terrible. The chicken pieces tasted old, with big chunks of fat which once picked apart really left with nothing much of actual meat. The naan was by the taste an texture reheated in the microwave after being cooked way before. In places it was soggy, in others it was tough and chewy. The only good thing was the rice, which I’m glad I got because otherwise I’d be starving. And the coke that washed away the flavour. I won’t be going back. There are plenty of better options in Auckland.

My fiance and I just ate at Indian Express tonight. We got a dinner meal for two and it was fantastic value! 3 curries, 2 rices, riata, two samosas and two naan breads for only $38. The guy was very easy to deal with and even swapped the riata for us at no charge. When we got home we were very happy with the tastes of the curry’s they were very yummy and we didn’t even eat half of the food, we are going to have a yummy lunch tomorrow too! will definitely be going back there again.

Taste wise I love it! but the reason I rated low is the high price. It’s a more like for takeaways but I found $14.50 for a takeaway Butter chicken is a bit over priced compare to other fine dining Indian restaurant like Handi Northcote where only charges $12.50 for Butter chicken. However, taste is great! I ordered Prawn Korma it was fantastic! and I like their doughy garlic naan too! If the price is a bit lower I definitely come again~

My wife and I have enjoyed the food at India Express for over 10 years. Always clean tasting and delicious meals at a great price. Favourites are Special Beef Curry, Chicken Korma, and for the vegetarians, the Potato and Courgette curry is superb. Make sure you try the samosas and potato rolls!

Different style of curry to what I’m used to, great.
I have had the goat curry and the lamb chop curry. Both curries were wet and didn’t have the full of sugar and fat feeling that I have become sick of. I had a bit too much pepper in the goat curry (ordered hot) but the meat was tender and delicious. The Lamb was also beautiful and tender. The lamb curry had the occasional whole spice in it, I really love this in curry, even though you don’t eat them. Also several half potatoes in the lamb chop curry,great.
