The decor feels modern and a few menu items certainly you would not find on any other japanese restaurant. Came here for dinner twice and it is very yum! Prices are reasonable so you can order a few side dishes along with your main. The sashimi platter is gorgeous and you get quite a range compared to some other place. The beef tataki is superb and I could just eat this and feel satisfied. Only bad thing is the pasta and cheese baked dishes which was somewhat confusing and lacking any direction in terms of place on the menu and flavours

I constantly order delivery food from Japa deli, and so far I have been very satisfied with the quality of the food.
Very fresh and delicious! Especially the menus with chicken such as Oyako don or teriyaki, one of the most genuiune food in Auckland.

Went here with a Groupon voucher for dinner. Clean, new-looking premises with a lit candle on every table – great first impression! Staff were very friendly, efficient and organised. Menu high quality, wide range and low price -mains less than $15. Food arrived amazingly fast; was fresh, tasty and well-presented. Great cappuccino. Restaurant became very busy later in the evening; must be a popular place. Definitely returning!

The food quality was good, however you can get better Japanese in Auckland.
Food variety is also good and the dishes are quite authentic.
Prices were fairly high. One “main” dish would certainly not be enough for a regular bloke. Two would be needed to feel satisfied.
Service was good. The waitresses are friendly. Environment is nice enough with a bit of a Japanese feel to it.

Overall, I would not come back here. It is pretty good, but just a bit too expensive for me.

Delicious, genuine Japanese food in a pleasant setting. They’ve got all the typical small dishes you would find at a Japanese restaurant as well as some interesting ones (like udon carbonara)! They also make okonomiyaki – yum!

Japa Deli is very reasonably-priced so I’m definitely going back!

I visit this place all the time for lunch takeaways and the occasional dine-in during lunch hours- always delicious, very good deal and quick service. I did once try a cream type desert from the display – tasted like it had been there a bit long – but the meals on the menu though I cant fault.
