We read the reviews of this restaurant but decided to go there anyway and I am glad we did. The service was superb. I ordered the ribs and as I didn’t feel like potatoes asked if I could have both the salad and the fresh cooked vegetables. There was plenty of food (don’t no how you could eat more so didn’t order the “all you can eat”, the vegetables were tender and crisp. The meat was very tender. They didn’t seem to grill the ribs however as they just poured the sauce over the cooked meat. Needed a fork and knife to eat them but they were very good. Although the hotel is a bit dated, everything was in good working condition and clean. Would go again

Broken chairs (3 in a row), tired run down location, lift out of order – the menu and advertising promised lots, the reality was grim. No staff on the bar, waited for a drink, had to rush up when we saw the cook behind the bar and get one, never offered another. Food below average, 10 shrimps to 1 shred of lettuce (yes 1 shred of lettuce), seafood soup had skin on top – why did it have skin on top? there were 6 people in the restaurant no reason for the soup to sit and form a skin. Pork roast, soggy veges and spuds reheated by microwave in a BOWL with slices of pork on top that had two different colours bottom and top with a line through the middle, along with a hunk of pork fat jelly, nothing short of yesterdays meal reheated. My $38 steak was totally tasteless and seafood on top questionable, chips brown in colour and salad a few scraps of lettuce and some green pepper in a sugar bowl. Substandard service, bad food, left hungry. They should be fined for false advertising I cringe to think that is the Kiwi tucker we are serving to overseas visitors.
