This place has a nice setting, nice staff but the food isn’t at that same standard at all, These meals are basically pub meals with fancy names. I don’t mind paying for nice food but paying for very little not nice food is somewhat irritating. The Chef here needs to really make quality his main priority- wont be back

Jimmy Cook’s seems to have more basic cuisine that is well presented. The staff and surroundings in Jimmy’s are very good. The pate was also quite good but for some reason was served on a hot plate so the pate started to ‘melt’ rather than maintaining its structure. The pate was very good and the presentation was excellent.
For a main I decided that I would try the butter chicken as I hadn’t had a curry for a long time. It was very average and the mango chutney had more spice than the main dish, and it was mild. It was more like a chicken soup with large lumps. Although it tasted OK it certainly was not butter chicken.
Although I would probably try this restaurant again I would most likely try the more ‘Kiwi’ dishes.
