I wrote a review on 11-12-12 and gave these guys five stars. I’m so disappointed with this place now that I have decided to update. Back then they had just taken over as the new owners. The service was brilliant, staff friendly and best of all, their Fish & Chips were beautiful… best in town.
Wow… what a change a year or so makes. Over the last few months we have definitely noticed the deterioration. Their Fish and Chips are nowhere near as good as they use to be. In fact, they are worse than some of the other places I would never go to. There use to be two Guys and a Woman there all the time. The Guys did all the cooking and were very good at it. Those two have now gone and I haven’t seen them for months. The Woman is still there with another Guy doing most of the cooking. I think they own it and the other two were helping them get up and running? The Fish and Chips are now soggy and horrible. Service is still good and very friendly though. I ordered Snapper and Chips last night just to make sure, but once again were awful. My wife said “Yuck, Where did you get these from” so that confirmed it. Shame really, just when we finally get a good Chippy, then end up back at square one trying to find another one.

We get chips here fairly regularily and they are always hot and crispy always tastes like the oil is fresh. Best chips in Kamo

These guys work long hours but they are always pleasant, smiling, and very efficient at their job. You don’t have to wait long for scrumptious meals to be prepared. The business had previously changed hands between a number of owners and it is the first time in 10 years that Kamo Takeaways has been a roaring success. (It used to be really popular when Happy Yovich owned it and that was many many years ago). These guys have won back the popularity of the place. We enjoy the hamburgers, scallops, chips, fish, & scallops. It’s nice going into a place where the staff are always friendly.
