Great food at very reasonable prices. We had fabulous coffee, a Greek Salad and a Chicken Salad, both of ample proportions.
The staff were most polite, friendly and helpful.
The only minus was the traffic noise, (we sat outdoors) however this was soon forgotten.
Highly recommended.

Tasty food at very good prices. Surprised at the range of burgers and chips available for a cafe – it felt a bit more like a burger bar that does coffee, although delicious! An elaborate drinks menu including white hot chocolate. Although the decor and space inside feels a bit vacant the staff were plentiful, very friendly and it was very clean. Overall a pleasant experience and we will go back.

I had the big breakfast when I went out there, my mum had the corn fritters.

Both were amazing! I also LOVED my butterscotch latte!

The service was great, staff were friendly and the chef even popped out to say hello to us.

Really enjoyed the whole experience, would recommend Karaka Kitchen to all.

Every experience I have had at the Karaka Kitchen has been a good one.

The coffee staff are excellent – I have never had a coffee there that I didn’t enjoy every sip.

The food is surprisingly good. As a health buff, there is always an option there for me. However if I feel like a piece of cake or something sweet they have plenty of treats.

Coming from Auckland City, I am surrounded by different coffee shops; So I know good coffee when it’s presented and superb coffee is what I got when I stopped off at Karaka Kitchen.

As for the food, I was highly impressed by the quality in which it was presented and also the taste just exploded in my mouth. Well done to the great Chefs out back!

The staff also made my day with their lovely smiles and on-point service.

Over-all I enjoyed my first experience at Karaka Kitchen… it definitely will not be my last.

They treat their work like art.Passionate and done till it is their best work

P.S- Try the Spiced Berry French toast… amazing!

Being a local I have seen this location “evolve” from a fruit & vege store to an antique shop to a cafe to a cafe to a coffee shop to a cafe – so I wasn’t expecting too much from this latest incarnation (the Worm Farm sign at the front is a bit off putting too).

I was very pleasantly surprised.

The coffee is good, the food is cooked fresh, the staff are very pleasant.

They have also made some nice changes to the decor so now it feels very welcoming.

The only minor criticism I would have is that their website says they have been there since January – if that is the case it is time to have the menus done properly (I have never seen “blackboard menu” written on a paper menu while the blackboard says “being rewritten”).

Oh, and lose the motto on the website, it sounds very trashy and this is actually a friendly & unpretentious venue.

Unfortunately they have 2 competitors nearby but with important differences – The Karaka Market does better coffee but you can’t sit down for food. St Margarets has a better location but the food is average and the service rude.

If you are after a combination of nice breakfast, friendly service & good coffee definitely give them a go!

Good food and nice to know they use free range eggs and bacon. I enjoyed my meal (pancakes type from memory) but my partner didn’t like his big breakfast too much and thought it was a bit pricey for what he got. For a venue in Karaka it is nice but not flash. Staff were friendly and parking is easy.
