WOW! Hubby and I eat in the restaurant often, I have just found out that I am pregnant and craved a Kauri Cottage Burger…NOW that they have TAKE-A-WAYS I ordered a burger for hubby to pick up and it was EXACTLY what I wanted and more! The salad was fresh, the bacon was cooked to perfection, not to mention the thick moist meat patties (they tasted homemade??). Thank god for the cottage and their take-a-way menu.

Also on a personal note, thank you to your staff for the congratulations on our new addition.

What a shame. This restaurant used to be good, but since a change of ownership, alas, it is now very average. We went for lunch and were very disappointed. the service was average (why is the phone more important than a guest waiting to be acknowledged, let alone seated?)and the food was worse.
The Kauri Cottage burger now has two wafer thin, leathery meat patties, while the deep fried mozzarella cheese balls in rice needed the DSIR to find the cheese, meaning the dish was tasteless.

Once again I apologise for your unhappy experience at the cottage and assure you that we are still using the same recipes and weights as the previous owner. I have had a staff meeting to pin point any problems but are unsure of which shift you were in on so have…    More »

I was very impressed with this cafe. I am on a restricted diet due to breast feeding and my sons allergies. The staff on duty were extremely helpful in trying to find something for me to eat. At the end of the meal – I asked if I could purchase the homemade relish which had accompanied my meal. They gave me a large tub at no cost. Fantastic!! The food was well presented and yummy. We will definitely go back.

Took a group of elderly folks for brunch. What a wonderful time we had. Great food and prices and a lovely setting. We will be back.
