Ate here while in Waiuku for a event at Glenbrook Vintage Railway.

Great food and great prices, the hotel has plenty of historical charm and character.

I have found my favorite place to eat in Waiuku.

We have eaten here for awhile but only recently with the new owners have we noticed a huge improvement. Great value for money and kid friendly $6 for a kids meal… Awesome!!! Other restaurants/bars $9-12 ! Really? I had the $25 fishermans catch wow it was beautiful!!! Ok so it’s not a 5 star restaurant and if you want that experience don’t go there, but what a huge difference , the decor and food and great friendly service I think the person who wrote the earlier post last year should really try it again. Best thing I’ve eaten in Waiuku for a long time!!!! Including the couple of ‘proper’ restaurants in town…. Mollys restaurant would put you to shame!!! Highly Reccomended!!!! Well done to the new owners

Check out the new Kentish website. The Kentish has had a total face lift, bar now separated from new restaurant. The Kentish is now a pleasant place to have a drink or dine with friends or family.

A friend booked a table, sight unseen, at the Kentish as part of an afternoons trip to Waiuku. Our group of three arrived an hour after it was supposed to be open, but the dining room was unattended. The menu was limited, and there was no privacy from the bar areas, making it unsuitable for families, or anyone wanting a meal without noise and non-diners wandering through. The dining area itself was very basic and needed a facelift. We waited a few minutes to see if anyone would bother to turn up to offer service, then agreed to find something more appropriate. Overall, a very disappointing experience.
